What Are You Doing Victoria?

As commentators in Australia are pointing out, boys and men are effectively bullying their way into the spaces of girls and women, creating safety issues. As is often the case with these activists, the safety of women and girls comes a very distant second to their ideology.

There must be something in the water in the State of Victoria, Australia. The latest madness being driven by its far-left Premier, Jacinta Allan, involves telling children as young as five years old that their body parts may not match their gender – that “some people didn’t get a good match for their body parts”.

The program being pushed is called ‘Respectful Relationships’ and hides behind the usual go to excuses, bullying and increased suicide risks.

According to the premier, confused kids are more likely to be bullied and consequently, her solution is to tell confused five-year-olds that their bodies might be wrong. One doesn’t need to be a psychologist to know the deep harm embedded in even suggesting this idea to a developing child! The suicide comments are also sadly familiar but never mention that such ideations do not change after the use of the euphemistically called ‘gender affirming care’ treatments.

Instead of seeking to affirm the child as they and addressing other underlying issues, Jacinta Allan and her supporters instead want to embed the confusion and have the child enter what is often referred to as the ‘school to clinic pipeline’.

This pipeline is where a child with gender dysphoria is moved onto puberty blockers, then to cross-sex hormones, and eventually mutilating surgery. Activists in support of the pipeline argue it’s all about choice, but it is very clear that once a child enters this pipeline there is rarely any chance to leave.

Alongside this, reports such as those of Dr Hilary Cass have stressed there is little to no evidence that puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones work. In fact, there is growing evidence of their harm – from brain development to bone density issues.

A final comment around claims by trans activists and the likes of Jacinta Allan that such programmes are needed because of bullying. They ignore the sad irony that transgenderism is largely a bullying tactic based on the assertion that a person can change their biological sex and compelling (bullying) people to accept this delusion. Furthermore, and as commentators in Australia are pointing out, boys and men are effectively bullying their way into the spaces of girls and women, creating safety issues. As is often the case with these activists, the safety of women and girls comes a very distant second to their ideology.
