Just what does a migrant terrorist or criminal have to do to actually get deported, these days? Judging by a plethora of cases, a migrant could ritualistically torture-murder Prince George live on the BBC and receive nothing worse than a stern talking-to from the Foreign Office. He certainly won’t get his GIRO cut off, let alone be told to go to the back of the queue for the NHS.
It is a curious affliction of the modern Western establishment that has transformed the sovereign nation-state into a global hostel for malcontents, subversives and torch-wielding maniacs, complete with a concierge desk that waives background checks and hands out taxpayer-funded welcome packs upon arrival. One might suppose that smuggling weapons through tunnels or swearing allegiance to a death cult would disqualify a gentleman from enjoying the bounties of British or Australian citizenship. One would, of course, be hopelessly naive.
Consider the revelation out of Blighty regarding a former Hamas bodyguard who spent years operating as an IT consultant in Britain while actively plotting transnational carnage against Jewish and Israeli targets. How such a character secured asylum and a shiny new passport in 2015 is a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in an acute case of administrative cowardice.
People are asking in horror how Britain could have knowingly harboured such a man. Merely to ask the question is to answer it. Britain did so because it has long been in denial over the threat that predatory Islamism poses to Britain.
I’ll ignore the bullshit of “Islamism”, a weasel-word coined by the same idiotic US president (Dubya, to narrow it down a bit) who gifted the other lie, “Religion of Peace”, to the world.
For decades, the political establishment has worn its suicide pact as a badge of honour, nurturing a domestic infrastructure of radicalism under the soothing banner of multiculturalism. Whether it is London playing host to every itinerant jihadist preacher, or the civil service tying itself in knots to avoid offending delicate sensibilities, the rot has penetrated every pillar of the state.
Nor is this terminal civic melancholia confined to the mother country. Down Under, our own judicial system has achieved a level of benevolent absurdity that leaves satirists entirely redundant. In Melbourne recently, we were treated to the heartwarming spectacle of Mohamed Bakit, a 65-year-old Somalian national, allegedly one of the Islamic State’s most prolific propagandists and accused of flooding chat groups with tens of thousands of files celebrating beheadings, being granted bail so he could access taxpayer-funded disability support.
[Deputy Chief Magistrate Gerard Lethbridge] said that while Bakit’s alleged offences had potential to cause “great harm” to the community, he was in poor health and depended on 24-hour NDIS-funded support due to a 2023 stroke that left him disabled, and at risk of choking and falling over.
Nothing says ‘robust counter-terrorism framework’ quite like ensuring an alleged international terrorist is comfortably settled back into his Carlton residence so the National Disability Insurance Scheme can pick up the tab for his ongoing care. Imagine the next ISIS recruitment strategy! Forget YouTube videos of head-loppings or selling the dazzling enticement of sex slavery that doesn’t involve four legs: how about complimentary Pilates and generous welfare payments for jihadis suffering from lumbago?
Cross the Pacific to the concrete canyons of New York City and the farce could clear the World Trade Centre in a single bound, if Muslims hadn’t blown it and 3000 Americans to hell. There, Roman Amatitla, an illegal alien accused of randomly setting fire to an apartment building, snuffed out four lives, including a small child, while calmly sipping a beer and watching the inferno from the pavement. One might imagine the authorities would bundle him onto a deportation flight before the smoke had even cleared. Instead, a sanctimonious Muslim socialist mayor and his sanctuary policies have stepped in to shield him from federal immigration officers.
“This monster set fire to a building and watched as innocent people, including a three-year-old, burned to death. New York City sanctuary politicians REFUSE to cooperate with ICE and are choosing to RELEASE this MURDERER onto New York streets,” DHS acting assistant secretary Lauren Bis told Fox News Digital.
The sheer, unadulterated madness of it all suggests a civilisation that has lost its basic survival instinct. We are expected to stand by and applaud as our borders are erased, our legal systems mocked and our safety bartered away on the altar of progressive compassion. The frog isn’t just swimming in warm water any more: the pot is boiling furiously over and our political elites are having conniptions because the stovetop runs on natural gas.
Until the West rediscovers a healthy dose of self-preservation and starts showing these ingrates the door, we shall continue reaping the bitter harvest of our own institutional cowardice.
