As I’ve written before, the timeline of the Watergate scandal was drawn out far further than popular memory would have it. In all, it was two years from the burglary to Nixon’s resignation. And that was with the media actively pursuing the scandal.
By contrast, the media have taken almost that long to even admit that the Hunter Biden laptop is even real. They’re still, along with the Deep State, doing everything to bury the scandal as deep as they can.
So, where does the scandal go from here?
On Wednesday a top CNN legal analyst (not Jeffrey Toobin) said there is a realistic chance Biden could be indicted by the US government. Now the question we should be asking ourselves is: what if Hunter Biden actually gets indicted? Could Joe Biden’s presidency survive it? If history is any guide, then the answer is no.
Biden is in deep enough trouble, even without his son’s shenanigans (in fact, he would likely never have even made it to the White House had the media told the truth about the laptop from the start). Everything from skyrocketing inflation, to the insidious crawl of white-hating racists and creepy sexual groomers into the nation’s schools, to the ongoing border crisis, has seen his approval ratings plumb new depths. His VP is even less popular, and the Democrats are facing a Congressional wipeout in the midterms.
Richard Nixon was able to brazen out scandals that would have taken down most leaders, until Watergate finally proved a crime too far. But Nixon was at least made of far sterner stuff than ol’ Brandon.
Joe Biden is not a man who handles thing well, even during the best of circumstances. He certainly doesn’t thrive under pressure. If you were looking for a statesmanlike figure to rise above these crack-in-the-bathtub scandals — you’d be disappointed […]
In the past, the president has struggled to explain what flavor of ice cream he picked out. Do you think he will be able to navigate questions that aren’t just of great legal consequence but also take aim at his family?
Biden’s glass jaw will likely shatter once and for all if he is asked to explain away his family’s corruption. How many reporters will be challenged to push up contests? How many will be called stupid sons of bitches?
If, or more likely, when, Hunter is finally dragged into a courtroom and called to account, Biden will have to either throw his only living son to the wolves or double down on protecting “the smartest man he knows”. Not only would the latter be personally devastating, without a doubt, it would also expose Biden for every time he has lied to the American public about Hunter’s activities.
On the other hand, Biden would have to pull out all the stops and go further even than Nixon did in trying to protect himself. Nixon may have fooled himself that “When the president does it, that means it is not illegal”, but Biden is never going to convince anyone that the same argument extends to the president’s family.
For voters it would just be another infuriating example of the Biden family’s corruption.
In the end, no matter what it may cost his family, Biden will most likely throw his son on the sword to buy his own political life.
Joe Biden’s family man schtick is as phony as his story about Corn Pop. For all of his blustering and tough talk, Joe Biden has never protected his son. He was more than happy to allow a drug-addled Hunter to do his corrupt bidding overseas and then ask for a cut of the earnings.
A good father would have put his son’s well being over a chance at dirty money. Joe Biden is not that father.

That may be a bit harsh. Surely even “Quid Pro Joe” couldn’t be so venal?
Then again, Biden is a veteran of an entire working life spent in Washington. If Hunter wants a friend and protector in that town, he’d better get himself a dog.
