What Is the New World Order?

We need a return to patriotism and a country-first agenda and it is fairly obvious that that agenda will only come from parties on the right.

If you research for a definitive answer to this question, you will likely be disappointed. There are many ideas and theories but no one specific narrative that combines them into one coherent statement. Hence we have talk of various countries (superpowers) wanting to build a new world order. This leads to an assumption that the world could be divided into blocks. Should that happen, it’s possible more conflict than cooperation could occur. The new world order concept has also been described as a conspiracy theory...

Some are quick to blame Donald Trump with his tariffs and aggressive foreign policy talk and actions. He is accused of deliberately breaking up the current world order, particularly in regard to his treatment of America’s allies, his withdrawing from multiple global organisations (many of those are linked to the United Nations), his climate change denial, his support of mining for fossil fuels and his America First policy.

Look at these individually. Tariffs have been used to further advance his America First agenda, against allies to encourage them to end their reliance on China and Russia for energy supplies and, surprisingly, they have been found to be a useful tool in limiting localised wars/skirmishes. Withdrawing from the UN organisations is based on the premise that the organisation is outdated and not realising its potential, a view echoed by Winston Peters in a speech at the United Nations.

Trump’s foreign policy rhetoric is used as a means to get the desired result. Greenland is a case in point. The threat to take the island by force got the desired result from NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte. As a result, two advantageous states of affair occurred, in the forms of a deal been reached and NATO transforming from a passive reactionary organisation to a more active one. Trump’s denial of climate change inflammatory rhetoric has seen a withdrawal from the Paris Agreement (something we should do) and his energy policy reflects that of our own Shane Jones – DIG BABY DIG. Both men know this is essential for wealth creation and keeping the lights on.

Trump’s America First agenda is a reflection of nationalism, patriotism and sovereignty. This is a policy agenda that ensures the good of the country and its people are prioritised over everything else. It is achieved domestically by financial policies and internationally by ensuring America is operating within a level playing field – hence his tariffs. There were fears this agenda would severely damage the American economy but so far any adverse effects have been minimal.

Is this the new world order? Not global, but local, because political parties in other countries are subscribing to the same beliefs and values. Not with tariffs, but by adopting an America First approach where patriotism is what drives their policy agenda. Note these parties are all on the right. Reform in the United Kingdom (Nigel Farage), Brothers of Italy (Meloni), Hungary’s Fidesz (Orban), Australia’s One Nation (Hanson) and NZ First. If you look at the polls in each country these parties are the ones gaining traction.

Yet, these are the things parties on the left have an aversion to. I would put our prime minister in the same category when it comes to his woke attitude to matters pertaining to race. He is not only wasting his time with his subservient crawling to a vocal racist minority, but he is costing National votes. He has just been shouted down at Waitangi. Will he emerge from under his rock? Unlikely, and Winston will benefit. Winston was also heckled but he gave as good as he got. Luxon talked about wanting to work with Māori. Deluded.

We are all one people, prime minister, and you should be working for all in equal measure.

The vocal elite at Davos and elsewhere are also wasting their time. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney got a standing ovation at Davos (unusual evidently) for his speech on the new world order. Suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, he was very keen to cosy up to Xi on his recent China visit. If this is his idea of a new world order he can stick it where the sun don’t shine. Starmer did likewise. These idiots are playing into Xi’s hands and he’ll be lapping this up.

The European Union is now starting to travel down the same divisive road. Some member countries on the right are starting to push back, realising their nationalism is being taken away. Leading the charge are Italy and Hungary – making things very uncomfortable for the ruling elite who are used to giving orders that are subserviently obeyed. Ursula von der Leyen, chair of the commission and the Ardern of the EU, is now finding things not all to her liking. The likes of Italy and Hungary want more autonomy and less ‘Do as I say or you will receive financial penalties.’ Expect more countries to get on board.

Voters are not interested in the new world order, in whatever shape it eventually comes. They are mainly interested in domestic issues, although foreign affairs are of importance. We are lucky to have Winston in that role. The left are largely tied to an ideology of globalism, where matters of looking after illegal immigrants is put ahead of the local citizens’ welfare. They are antisemitic, not in favour of free speech, don’t like seeing people praying in public, don’t support an education system teaching the basics and tax the hell out of everyone.

All of the above brings us no closer to what a new world order might look like but, suffice to say, the left and the right would have a very different view of what it should look like. Carney’s and Starmer’s cosying up to China is evidence of that. There is a battle for supremacy between America, China and Russia for world dominance. Of the three, America is the preferable one. A strong America, a strong NATO, a reorganised United Nations and European Union are all vital to achieving a situation that best benefits Western interests.

We cannot have totalitarian regimes in charge. We cannot have countries being dictated to by unelected bureaucrats, we cannot have country’s flags being removed and we cannot have local citizens rights being usurped by a government’s adherence to a global left-wing view. We need a return to patriotism and a country-first agenda and it is fairly obvious that that agenda will only come from parties on the right.
