Who Could Have Foreseen This?

‘Virtuous paedophile’ arrested for… you guessed it…

When ‘virtuous paedophiles’ really aren’t. The Good Oil. Photoshop by Lushington Brady.

Well, pickle me grandmother! Whoever could have seen this coming? The director of a lobby group for ‘Non-Offending Minor-Attracted-Persons’ (NOMAPs) has been arrested for offending very, very, badly. How could this happen? They’re Virtuous Pedophiles, after all.

It’s almost like there really is nothing at all ‘virtuous’ about being a paedophile at all and the whole ‘NOMAPs’ thing is yet another rock these spiders are hiding under.

The director of a pro-pedophile activist group has allegedly been arrested in Norway and charged with the rape of two children under the age of 14. The man, who has remained unnamed in Norwegian press but is known as “Charlie” online, was reportedly a primary school teacher in Rogaland and was arrested on July 9.

‘Charlie’ is a director of a rockspider lobby group with the barefaced chutzpah to call themselves ‘Virtuous Pedophiles’. Even though, by their own admission, they don’t seem very virtuous, really. ‘Charlie’s’ co-director, who calls himself ‘Markus’, also allegedly admitted to sexually abusing a child “several years ago”.

Can somebody show me where the ‘virtue’ is with these damned creeps? Because I sure can’t see any.

Virtuous Pedophiles (VirPed) is a group founded in 2012 that purports to seek the de-stigmatization of pedophilia in order to facilitate “harm prevention and personal support.” Members acknowledge that they have a sexual attraction to children, but claim to want lead normal productive lives without abusing children. The group has repeatedly claimed they have a “commitment to non-offending” and position themselves as a resource for journalists, academics, and public education on pedophilia.

Well, they’re educating us, all right. Just not, presumably, in the manner they wanted to.

They are the living embodiment of conservative Christian commentator David Robertson’s warning that, “paedophilia first of all [will] be defined as an illness and a sexuality. Then in popular culture we will gradually get ‘Lolita’ stories seeking to make a sympathetic ‘non-judgemental’ case” to legalise paedophilia.

On a page titled, “I Am an Adult Pedophile,” the VirPed site reads: “Don’t panic. You are a pedophile, but it’s only a part of who you are. You are not alone. There are a lot of people like you who have this attraction and still go on to live satisfying lives and never try to seek sexual activity with a child. Your attraction does not make you a bad person, and you did not choose to be a pedophile either.”

However, Charlie is being discussed sympathetically within the VirPed community despite the charges against him.

“My heart goes out to him,” wrote one forum member, known as gwenisgone, who has listed their “age of attraction” as being between one to 12 years old.

Read that again: he’s ‘attracted’ to one- to 12-year-olds. Tell me again how they’re ‘virtuous’. The only truthful thing these ‘Virtuous Pedophiles’ say, in their weepy chats over their rockspider pal getting busted, is: “We are like cockroaches”.

In 2022, Reduxx became aware that a UK-based member of VirPed had been placing letters within books at public libraries. The letters pleaded for more tolerance towards “non-offending pedophiles.”

Even more alarming than their self-serving persecution complex is just how many people in academia are willing to enable them. This is hardly new: from paedophiles Michel Foucault and John Money, to leading academics of gender theory such as Gayle Rubin, who openly denounced laws outlawing child pornography and paedophilia, and Sarah Hankins, who valourised paedophilia as a tool of “protest and liberation”, modern academics have had more than a soft spot for kiddie fiddlers. In Australia, the former director of the academic thinktank behind the ‘Safe Schools’ project wrote glowing pro-paedophile articles in the 1980s, while the founder of ‘LGBTQIA+ youth’ organisation Minus 18, Colin Billing, died after being charged over the sexual assault of three children.

And so it goes.

Members of both the VirPed and BoyChat forums have been solicited as participants in academic research […] The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a UK-based child protection charity dedicated exclusively to preventing child sexual abuse praises the Virtuous Pedophile community on its official website, where the charity has given VirPed a rating of “pioneering” […]

The group has also been covered positively in dozens of mainstream media outlets. In 2014, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation offered them praise in a profile titled “Virtuous Pedophiles Group Gives Support Therapy Cannot.”

One notable endorsement of VirPed comes from Ray Blanchard, a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.

Blanchard praised ‘VirPed’ for “its efforts to reduce child sexual abuse”. How’s that working out? Blanchard was also responsible for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition [DSM-5] entry for pedophilia, which shifted definitions from the previously unambiguous “pedophilia”, to the shifty “pedophilic sexual interest” and “pedophile disorder”, as if there’s any real difference.

Does anyone still want to argue that there isn’t a high-level agenda to legalise paedophilia?
