Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

It has been covered by many groups:
The Beatles released their take on their 1963 album “With The Beatles”.
Mountain put their spin on it in their 1971 album “Flowers of Evil”.
ELO included their cover on their 1973 album “ELO2”
Status Quo included a version on their 2000 album “Famous in the Last Century”
