What is it about the political class in this country that makes them so determined to flood the place with people who hate the country, hate us and hate our values?
In the mid-’70s, it was Malcolm Fraser and his disastrous ‘Lebanese concession’. Eager to virtue signal, Fraser dropped normal vetting procedures. The result was that, instead of the Beirut-based Maronite Christians it was intended to help, 90 per cent who took advantage of the scheme were Muslims from backwater villages.
Fraser was warned that a high percentage of applicants were illiterate and were being admitted to Australia without “any regard to their economic viability, personal qualities or capacity for successful settlement… A high percentage are illiterate. Personal hygiene is poor.” A report warned that violence had occurred within the Immigration Department’s Nicosia office when applications for entry were being processed. “Misrepresentations and deliberate attempts to conceal vital information are prolonging interviews.”
Unsurprisingly, the scam was abandoned after just a year. But by then it was too late: tens of thousands of the Muslim equivalent of rednecks had flooded in. The die was cast.
Now, 50 years later, we’re having to deal with not just the nasty fruit of the Lebanese concession, but another generation of politicians too eager to welcome the world’s worst with open arms. In the case of Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Tony Burke, literally: Burke was on hand to personally welcome just one group of thousands of ‘Palestinians’ Labor are flying into the country.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, they’ve been secretly sneaking in ISIS brides.
Officials in Anthony Albanese’s department have refused to disclose key details about the repatriation of Australian families linked to Islamic State fighters, prompting coalition accusations of a “cover-up”.
Appearing before Senate estimates on Tuesday, senior bureaucrats from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet said they could not reveal how many wives and children had reached Australia, citing privacy concerns – despite those details already being publicised.
Why are they so determined to keep this secret from us? What don’t they want us to know?
It was widely reported on Friday that two Australian women and their four children – members of the so-called “ISIS brides” cohort – had recently arrived in Melbourne after paying people-smugglers to escape northern Syria.
In other words, Albanese and Wong are blatant liars. Big surprise.
The revelation came even as the prime minister last month denied revelations first published by the Australian that his government was preparing for the group’s return, with that claim now under heavy scrutiny from coalition senators.
When pressed on the details of the families’ arrival and when the government was first made aware of the matter, Foreign Minister Penny Wong, who was appearing alongside departmental staff, declined to provide answers, instead taking the questions on notice.
“In June we were told by the prime minister and his ministers that they didn’t know anything about this and they had no knowledge,” [opposition leader Sussan Ley] told Channel 7.
“But passports and citizenship papers, they don’t create themselves. Something appears to have been done to support the repatriation of these individuals who willingly left our shores to join a death cult, which had at its heart the destruction of our way of life.”
In fact, we now know for a fact that the Albanese government was secretly greasing the rails to inflict these death-cult members on an unsuspecting Australian public.
Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke and departmental secretary Stephanie Foster met twice this year with Save the Children, a not-for-profit organisation that has campaigned heavily for the repatriation of Australian women and children from Syrian camps, a Senate committee heard on Wednesday.
Burke’s seat, by the way, has the highest percentage of Muslims of any Australian electorate.
In the meantime, the Australian taxpayer will be forking out millions of dollars every year, in what grim experience suggests will be a futile effort to stop jihadis from wreaking more terror in this country.
NewsWire reported that Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner Stephen Nutt confirmed there were investigations related to managing counter-terrorism, and that preparations were underway for another wave of brides to return to Australia.
He said the investigations also involved other Commonwealth groups, ASIO and state and territory police.
How about just save Australian lives and taxes by leaving these fanatical creeps to rot in the ruins of the ‘caliphate’ they so eagerly rushed off to join? We won’t have to waste money and resources monitoring jihadis if we don’t hand wave them into the country in the first place.
