As I Stuff Won’t Tell You”>reported last week, the initial reporting of the Brooklyn subway attack by local legacy media quietly omitted a key fact which didn’t fit their worldview. But they’ve got over that and, like most of the legacy media, found a comfortable way to slot it into The Narrative. It’s all about gun violence, of course!
Phew. The world is back to rights: the local legacy media can go back to wagging their heads over their Fair Trade coffee and artisanal muesli. Tut-tut, those Americans and their guns. The American left can go back to howling about “gun reform” and how it’s all the fault of the Republicans and the NRA.
Above all, never, ever admit that America is experiencing a staggering wave of violent crime directly consequent to the left’s holy fetish of the past few years: Black Lives Matter.
Another mass shooting in the US a fortnight ago was in Sacramento, where six were killed and at least 12 injured.
One of the suspected shooters, Smiley Martin, 27, was out of jail on early release against the advice of the Sacramento county district attorney. ‘He poses a significant, unreasonable risk of safety to the community,’ authorities said, opposing Martin’s release from state prison […]
Martin ‘has no respect for others, for law enforcement or for the law. If he is released early, he will continue to break the law,’ prosecutors concluded.
In spite of dire warnings, the Board of Parole Hearings released Martin in February 2022 on account of time-served formulas used by the state department of corrections and wider pressure for decarceration.
A few weeks earlier, Asaahdi Elijah Coleman, 21, opened fire on passengers alighting from a Greyhound bus.
Karin Dalton, 43, with her two teenage kids on the way to a ‘new life’ in New Mexico, died at the scene. Coleman wounded four others, then ran off into the night. He was arrested, naked, inside a Walmart after getting into a fight, according to the Associated Press.
Coleman had a warrant for his arrest on a firearm possessions charge and a probation violation out of Alameda County as well as an undisclosed juvenile record.
So, three mass shootings: the perpetrators were all black and all with significant criminal records. One of them with a lengthy online record of violent racist diatribes against other races. Two of them are free because of BLM’s signature policies of “decarceration”, “restorative justice” and “defund the police”.
Low-lives and bad apples are now aware that the heat is off, that police tread gingerly out of self-interest and legal self-protection. As long as outlaws feel resisting arrest and menacing police is a constitutional right — or at least works — municipal lawlessness will escalate.

Where do Democrat politicians sheet the blame? Joe Biden and California governor Gavin Newsom played to the Democrat peanut gallery by shouting about stronger gun regulations. Biden also had the gall to call for more police funding — this after years of Democrat lawmakers gutting police budgets in the post-George Floyd mania to “defund the police”.
Democratic officials and their media are more than willing to weave together gun violence and white nationalism […] Second Amendment absolutists might be far-out or obnoxious, but they rarely shoot up a crowd at two in the morning or a busload of innocent strangers in a fit of paranoia. If they do, the incident is amplified on behalf of the gun-violence narrative.
But the simple fact is that real “white nationalists” are extremely rare in the US — and their presence in shooting statistics even rarer. The vast bulk of mass shootings are gang shootings, or young black men firing indiscriminately at the party where they were “dissed”.
Functional Americans across the political spectrum see governments and courts at all levels accommodating lawlessness. This can’t go on, they say, or can it? They behold a society hardened by distrust and predation, in the hands of highly partisan forces actively rearranging morality, abolishing civic standards, and deforming childhood.

The left’s great Racial Reckoning, driven by the odious BLM movement, has unleashed a wave of violence on America. Not just the violence of BLM inspired terrorists and cop killers, but the violence of thugs who know the police have been “defunded”, and that Democrat “restorative justice” laws mean that the few police left dare not touch them.
If ordinary Americans are arming themselves en masse (gun sales have surged in the last few years), it’s because they know that, thanks to leftist policies, the law isn’t there to defend them anymore.
