Why Were the Media Embedded with Hamas?

When the Israeli Defence Force obliterated a Hamas outpost, the left-media screeched that the Israelis had destroyed a building that housed media outlets. Which is true enough: the building held the offices of a number of media organisations.

It was also a Hamas nest.

Israel said it shared “smoking gun” evidence with Biden administration officials that Hamas militants were operating out of a building in the Gaza Strip that housed media outlets that was reduced to rubble by Israeli rockets, according to a report on Sunday[…]

“We showed them the smoking gun proving Hamas worked out of that building,” the newspaper reported, citing a source close to Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi. “I understand they found the explanation satisfactory.”

In a readout of the call from the White House, Biden reaffirmed “Israel’s right to defend itself against rocket attacks from Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza.

Naturally, the mainstream media only reported half of the story.

An Israeli airstrike destroyed the 12-story building in the Gaza Strip that contained the offices of the Associated Press, Al Jazeera and other news outlets an hour after the Israeli military ordered the building be evacuated.

AP President and CEO Gary Pruitt said he was “shocked and horrified” by the attack. “This is an incredibly disturbing development.”

Actually, what’s really disturbing is that some of the world’s leading mainstream media outlets were embedded with Hamas – an anti-Semitic terror organisation.

Do these supposed investigative journalists really expect us to believe that they had no idea that they were sharing office space with Hamas?

Israel Defense Forces said the building housed news agencies, “which the terrorist organization Hamas hides behind and uses as human shields.”

“The terror organization Hamas deliberately places its military assets in the heart of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. Prior to the attack, the IDF warned the civilians who were in the building and gave them sufficient time to evacuate,” it said.

Let that sink in again: AP, Al Jazeera and other media and “advocacy” groups were housed in the same offices as Hamas.

Either these media outlets knew that Hamas operated from the same building and said nothing about it, or they are so clueless about what’s really going on in Gaza that they genuinely had no idea that they were sharing water coolers and coffee machines with a deadly terror group.

Neither possibility does much for the media’s credibility in Gaza.
