Due to human introductions, the Fallow Deer has populations on every continent except Antarctica. During the last ice age, they were restricted to the Middle East and southern Europe.
Editor’s note: They are the best deer for eating too. They taste like lamb. It is really delicious meat. They are small deer in comparison to other species but are the best eating by a long stretch in my opinion. When Cam brings home a fallow deer from a hunt it never lasts long in our freezer!
