Another day, another deportation, another pile of lies and dodges from the left and their media bootlickers. Remember ‘Maryland Dad’ Kilmar Ábrego Garcia? In fact, he was a two-time illegal immigrant, who was not from Maryland but, in fact, El Salvador, where he was almost certainly a member of the insanely violent MS-13 gang (the gang tattoos should have been a dead giveaway: the gangs are nothing if not zealously protective of their intellectual property – sporting their tattoos without being a member is a death sentence). Oh, and he had a lengthy criminal record and was strongly suspected of human trafficking.
Just the kind of stand-up, all-American dad the left love.
No one’s suggesting that Rafael Rubio has a similar criminal record or is a gang member, but that doesn’t mean he has any right to be in America.
Yet, here the left are, screeching and stamping their feet that he’s been deported.
Not to mention lying through their teeth about it.
The New York City Council vowed Wednesday to fight an immigration judge’s “outrageous” decision to deport a Venezuela-born city data analyst because of a missing signature on his asylum application.
In fact, he was refused permission to sign the application. For very good reason: he simply wasn’t entitled to asylum.
Immigration Judge Charles Conroy cited the technicality in his final deportation order for Rafael Rubio, 53, who has been jailed since January, when ICE officers hauled him away at what he believed was a routine check-in at a Long Island immigration center.
Judge Conroy – who has one of New York City’s lowest asylum grant rates – issued his ruling after refusing to allow Rubio to fix the signature, which his lawyer said he could take care of in an hour, according to City Council Speaker Julie Menin.
Now, why was he having to check in at an immigration centre in the first place?
Because he’s an illegal immigrant.
This is the part they don’t want to tell you.
Rubio, whose full name is Rafael Andres Rubio Bohorquez, has temporary protected immigration status, his lawyers say.
The Trump administration is currently trying to bar Venezuela natives from being eligible for that type of status, with the US Supreme Court set to hear arguments on the issue in April.
Here’s where they’re lying by omission. Rubio isn’t exactly fleeing the Chavez/Maduro regime – which has been overthrown, anyway. This is why the Trump administration is moving to bar Venezuelans from being eligible for ‘temporary protection’ (which inevitably turns into overstaying and never returning again).
But Rubio in fact came to the USA illegally 45 years ago. Socialist dictator Chavez was nearly 20 years away from seizing power.
Still, the left are trying to lie-by-omission their way around that, too. Socialist Muslim NY Mayor Zohran Mamdani whined that Rubio was brought to the USA as a child of eight. And…? He’s has at least 35 years as an adult to sort out his immigration status. Instead, he’s chosen to remain ‘undocumented’. That is, illegally in the country.
So… back home you go, illegal boy.
And some hard questions need to be asked of the NY city administration. What, after all, was an illegal immigration doing, working for the city?
The data analyst passed a background check before he was hired to work for the council in January 2025, sources familiar with the matter told the Post.
Even if Rubio indeed had TPS status, which would allow him to work, TPS does not provide a path to permanent residency or citizenship.
So, Rubio is still an illegal immigrant. End of story.
