1. National support up in September as National-led Government increases lead to 14% points after RBNZ cut interest rates

  • 📊 Roy Morgan's New Zealand Poll for September 2024 shows:
    • Support for the National-led Government (National, ACT & NZ First) increased to 55%, up 2% points.
    • The Labour-Greens-Maori Party Opposition decreased to 41%, down 2% points.
  • 🗳️ Seat projections:
    • National/ ACT/ NZ First would win 69 seats, up one from the election.
    • Labour/ Greens/ Maori would win 51 seats, down four from the election.
  • 📞 Survey details:
    • Conducted from August 26 – September 22, 2024, with 902 electors.
    • 4.5% did not name a party.
  • 📉 Government Confidence Rating:
    • Dropped to 92.5 in September 2024.
    • 46.5% feel New Zealand is 'heading in the wrong direction'.
  • 👫 Gender divide:
    • Men heavily favor the National/ ACT/ NZ First coalition.
    • Women split, with younger women supporting Labour/ Greens/ Maori Party.
  • 📈 Age demographics:
    • Older men strongly support National/ ACT/ NZ First.
    • Younger women are strongest supporters of Labour/ Greens/ Maori.
