This is edition 2025/52 of the Ten@10 newsletter.

1. Poll Results on Economic Growth Support

  • 🌍 More tourism: +54%
  • 📚 More international students: +49%
  • 💰 Lower personal tax rates: +45%
  • 🏢 Lower company tax rate: +11%
  • 🌐 More foreign investment: +10%
  • 🚶‍♂️ More immigration: +9%
  • ⛏️ More mining: +0%
  • 📉 Sell commercial shares: -9%

Gender Differences:

  • Men are +23% on more mining; women are -20%.
  • Men are +35% on more foreign investment; women are -11%.

Age Differences:

  • Under 40s less supportive of more mining and more foreign investment.
  • Under 40s more supportive of more immigration, lowering personal tax rates, and selling commercial shares.
  • Over 60s less supportive of more immigration, lowering company tax rates, lowering personal tax rates, and selling commercial shares.
  • Over 60s more supportive of more mining and more international students.

Party Support:

  • National voters support all measures.
  • Labour voters support all measures except mining, share sales, and lowering company tax rates.
  • TPM voters support more tourism, more immigration, more international students, and lowering personal tax rates.
  • ACT voters support all measures except more immigration and selling commercial shares.
  • NZF voters support all measures except mining and more foreign investment.
  • Green voters support more tourism, more immigration, more international students, and lowering personal tax rates.

Summary: Measures to increase tourism, immigration, and international students have broad political support. More foreign investment has support from major parties but is opposed by Greens and NZ First. Lowering company tax rates is supported across Government party voters. These results suggest strong public backing for economic boosting measures, encouraging bold action from the Government.
