This is edition 2025/7 of the Ten@10 newsletter.
Welcome back. It's 2025 and 20 years since I started writing about politics and anything else that took my fancy. Thank to my VIP members for making this site what it is today. In July we will be having a 20th birthday celebration. Stay tuned for more announcements.
This is the Ten@10, where I collate and summarise ten news items you generally won't see in the mainstream media.
Enjoy!

- 📰 Mainstream media (MSM) reported on 16 January about former Green MP Golriz Ghahraman being investigated for a shoplifting complaint, initially without naming her.
- 🕵️♀️ Radio NZ and Stuff later identified her, detailing the incident allegedly involving groceries placed in a tote bag at Pak’nSave Royal Oak in late 2024.
- 🛒 The Herald added that the supermarket didn't report the incident directly to police, raising questions about how it surfaced, possibly through the Auror platform used for retail crime.
- ⚖️ Despite media coverage suggesting guilt, the legal presumption of innocence applies, as no charges have been laid and Ghahraman asserted intent to pay before leaving the store.
- 🗞️ Criticism arose over MSM's rush to report without thorough investigation, highlighting the need for accurate, balanced journalism amidst public trust concerns.
