10 News Stories They Chose Not to Tell You

This is edition 2026/140 of the Ten@10 newsletter.

Hi all,

This is the Ten@10, where I collate and summarise ten news items you generally won't see in the mainstream media.

Enjoy!

1. Fauci Twisted Arms and Misrepresented Data in Single-Minded Drive to Mandate Covid Vaccines

Alex Gutentag — Public

  • 📔 Diary vs “not me on mandates”: begged Walensky to override ACIP on occupational boosters or be “forever branded… with no leadership” — NY healthcare booster mandate tracked CDC advice.
  • ✅ Oct 2021: natural-immunity workers “have a point” but “we still must get people vaccinated”; Aug 2021 Israeli waning against infection and hospitalisation already known.
  • 🤐 CDC draft saying vax “do not protect against infection at all” feared for undermining DoJ mandates; Fauci: protection against true infection “low to modest at best.”
  • 🗣️ Coached Biden’s “pandemic of the unvaccinated” speech day before sweeping federal mandates; diary also credits him with pushing de Blasio/Newsom school and hospitality closures.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: not “evolving science” — noble lies for uptake. One ego, millions of firings, institutional trust at all-time lows.

2. The Activists Behind Winston Peters’ Mock Execution

Ani O’Brien — Thought Crimes

  • 🪓 Auckland “theatre”: Migrant Workers Association wheeled a Peters effigy to a guillotine — “Give him the chop!” — Kaloti as prosecutor/judge; Carolan insists they’re against the death penalty.
  • 🪞 Flip the faces (Swarbrick/Hipkins/TPM): days of headlines, police demands, democratic-norms panic. Stuff: one mild piece after a week of outrage over “go back to your country.”
  • 🕸️ MWA = charity + Socialist Aotearoa/Unite/One Union network; Carolan: “pink flu,” general strikes, “what Parliament does, the streets can undo”; Menéndez March events on MWA FB with Parliamentary Service auth.
  • 🏠 Oct home crowbar attack already crossed the line; international left guillotine/assassination cosplay (Polanski/Farage, Mangione folk-hero) not harmless props.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: left violence gets the free pass. Guillotines aren’t neutral — Greens/Labour should denounce their own ecosystem or admit the double standard.

3. Demography Is Destiny — and New Zealand Is Choosing Decline

Rodney Hide — Brash & Mitchell

  • 📉 TFR 1.55–1.60 (was ~2 a decade ago); every major group below replacement: European 1.56, Māori 1.97, Pacific 2.03, Asian 1.32.
  • 🧮 At 1.56: ~0.78 kids per person → ~0.61 grandchildren; 35–40% of today’s babies will have no grandchildren at all.
  • 🏦 Fewer workers, heavier super/health load, immigration only a temporary mask — causes known (housing, dual-income necessity, tax/welfare that penalise larger families) while politics obsesses over secondary identity fights.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: a country that can’t replace itself has no long-term sovereignty. Numbers don’t lie; will is the only question.

4. As They Stand, No

Oliver Hartwich — Brash & Mitchell / NZ Initiative

  • ⚖️ Verdict on RMA replacement Bills: still need work; deadlines loom and may outrun the fix.
  • ✅ Credit Bishop/Court: fewer council vetoes, more consistent rules, standardised zones, more by-right activity — real progress after decades of failure.
  • ⚠️ Missing guardrails vs Cabinet’s own promises (housing, property rights, better regulation): ministerial discretion across 16 goals; few protections if priorities shift.
  • 🛡️ Need Act-level: easier private plan changes when land prices scream restriction; compensate or relax when new rules gut property value — not removable by future minister alone.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: final verdict waits on amendment papers. Without statutory protections, “as they stand, no.”

5. Transgenderism and the Attack on the Open Society

Rodney Hide — Brash & Mitchell

  • 🚽 Luxon’s campaign line: talking women’s toilets = “another planet” — manager politics that can’t hold the bottom line of female private space for modesty and safety.
  • 🔄 Liberal gain (leave gay people alone) metastasised into illiberal demand: affirm identity, rewrite biology, open female spaces; dissent = harm/career death/crime.
  • 🏟️ Changing rooms, sports, prisons, shelters become contested once self-ID trumps sex — open society’s evidence and vulnerable protection subordinated to unchallengeable subjective claim.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: free adults may dress as they choose; society cannot surrender objective categories or the right to state biological fact. Yielding ground is paid by girls and women.

6. Why Is Winston Peters Still Minister of Foreign Affairs?

Grant Duncan — Politics Happens

  • 🇨🇳 “Go back to your own country” + “they lie like a flatfish” under privilege → Chinese ambassador rebuke, formal protest, SCMP/China Daily/Straits Times.
  • ⚖️ Clark: can he manage the key strategic partner? “Not really.” In principle sack; in practice coalition veto + sacking now looks like kowtow to Beijing.
  • 🪞 Compare: Peters sacked Phil Goff as UK High Commissioner in hours for a personal Trump opinion — Americans never had to speak.
  • 📜 Form: 2003 NZF pamphlet on “Third World immigrants,” crime, TB/HIV; Clark still made him MFA in 2005. Integrity move = stand down and keep the coalition deal.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: free portion lands the trap; full “why he’ll carry on” is paywalled.

7. Removing the Little Sh*ts

Peter Allan Williams

  • 🗣️ Paul Henry: “a lot of little shits in classrooms” — ACT wants teachers freer to remove them; Labour-aligned unions cry unworkable and demand more “support.”
  • 📊 ERO 2024: half of teachers face disruption every lesson; 47% lose up to 50 minutes/day managing behaviour.
  • 📚 Chain with attendance action plan: regular attendance (90%+) up from 53% (2023) to 68.8% Term 1 — still soft, better; parent penalties included (one EBoP no-show).
  • 🔄 MLE/open-plan, child-centred, knowledge-poor curriculum disasters being walked back; phones out of hours; structure/discipline = the century that worked.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: progressive will call it retrograde. Standards fell this century. Worth a go to keep momentum.

8. The Real Tragedy Isn’t That Tony Fauci Is an Egomaniac. It’s That He’s a Bad Scientist

Alex Berenson — Unreported Truths

  • 💣 Diary shows epic self-love; what’s missing is scientific curiosity — commanding-general power used for restrictive rules + aggressive mRNA without knowing if they worked.
  • ❓ Hard questions (FCS virulence, lab leak, age risk, R0, countermeasure costs, vax against respiratory viruses, mutation) answered worldwide — Fauci didn’t drive seroprevalence trials, cheap combo drug studies, or head-to-head vax trials.
  • 📺 Bret Stephens: ego twice his weight; so much TV time because he wasn’t keeping up with the literature.
  • 📉 “I am science” = incurious arrogance; lockdowns/masks/schools and youth mRNA push lasted because legacy media/Biden wanted the message, not the data.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: Oppenheimer if the bomb didn’t work. Narcissism admitted; scientific failure still denied.

9. The Fauci Legend Will Not Die!

Matt Taibbi — Racket News

  • 📰 MoJo: diary has “no smoking gun” of deliberate misleading — after Feb 1 2020 call where 9 of 12 scientists said deliberate insertion possible; Zheng-Li Shi GOF on spike/ACE2 in Wuhan.
  • 🤥 Eight days later on Gingrich: lab idea “conspiracy… without scientific basis”; kept citing Nature Medicine paper he “prompted”; House email already had the same confession three years ago.
  • 📻 NPR “chilling effect on service”; CNN “assault on science”; CBS Gounder: “who among us hasn’t taken a celebrity selfie?” after reading all the diaries.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: ferocity of the coverup is the story. Takes a village to keep a legend alive past its own handwriting.

10. Evolution of New Zealanders into Entitled Aoteachondriacs

John McLean

  • 💊 Patient Voice Aotearoa’s Malcolm Mulholland (not a medical doctor — flag-referendum PhD, Massey lifer, Kiwibank Local Hero) chairs Pharmac’s Consumer Working Group while crying permanent “CRISIS.”
  • 🧾 Wife’s breast-cancer death blamed on unfunded fancy drugs; he survived prostate cancer via Western medicine — now pawned by legacy media to paint coalition as denying Māori miracle cures.
  • 📜 Pharmac already lost in fourth-article Treaty mysticism; NZ can’t match rich-country formularies after Labour’s fiscal mess — every edge-case dollar is mental health for the young or debt service.
  • 🪧 “Buller Declaration” to Parliament steps with Greens/Labour, no coalition ministers; Brown should sack the catastrophiser he appointed to shut him up.
  • 🎯 Takeaway: stop masochistically feeding appointees who bite the hand and spread irrational fear. You will die. There is no unlimited Pharmac fairy.
