You’re Not Allowed to Enjoy the Thing

Pass the popcorn: the Disney corporation has sacked CEO Bob Chapek and brought back Bob Iger. Chapek unsuccessfully tried to, if not arrest, at least slow the company’s slide into wokeness. But he was summarily bought to heel by it cohort of permanently aggrieved activist employees, most notably for failing to properly screech autistically about Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act.

Now Chapek has been replaced by the woke clown who kicked off the grooming of Disney. Expect the wokeness to explode exponentially and in inverse proportion to the company’s popularity.

But, as Ben Shapiro shows in his book Primetime Propaganda, the left are more than willing to spend every dollar of other peoples’ money, and drive companies into the ground if they have to, to push THE MESSAGE.

THE MESSAGE. The BFD.

Of course, whenever anyone complains about the Thing They Once Liked becoming a cesspit of wokeism, the purple-haired landwhales and creepy ladyboys screech, “Then start your own Thing!”

But, if anyone does dare start their own Thing and make a success of it, the wokeists have to destroy that, too.

The same forces that led to Hallmark’s new woke direction and the subsequent creation of the Great American Family network are now targeting the fledgling entertainment venture for refusing to make the same mistake its predecessor did.

A mainstay at Hallmark for years before joining a number of her fellow network stars in jumping ship to Great American Family, Candace Cameron Bure drew progressive ire after telling The Wall Street Journal that the new entertainment outlet was unlikely to air any programming featuring same-sex couples.

“I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” said the actress.

Cue unhinged screaming from the dementoids of the rainbow left.

Unsurprisingly, Bure’s comments are already sparking outrage from progressives within the entertainment industry, chief among them former fellow Hallmark star Hilarie Burton Morgan.

As always, their sole aim is shutting down anything that might be successful enough to challenge their lunatic narrative. Unfortunately, too many corporations make the fatal mistake of thinking that these nutcases actually represent a significant audience, rather than just a few bitter, sexless blobs glued to their Twitter accounts.

Back in 2020, The Hallmark Channel went through a major overhaul after facing a wave of outrage over an LGBTQ-themed ad that was airing on their channel.

The ad, as produced by online-wedding firm Zola, showed two women getting married and pondering how their ceremony might have been improved through the use of the company’s services.

In a classic case of “Get Woke, Go Broke”, the channel opted to listen, not to its paying audience, but a handful of screaming ninnies.

The situation ultimately ended with George Zaralidis, the VP of Communications for Hallmark’s parent company, Crown Media Family, affirming to NBC, “Diversity and inclusion is a top priority for us and we look forward to making some exciting programming announcements in the coming months, including announcements about projects featuring LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors.”

Shortly after this statement, then-Crown Media Family Networks CEO Bill Abbott stepped down from his role at the network and joined fledgling competitor GAC Media – operating name Great American Media – in order to push back against his former company’s new direction […]

In a separate interview with Variety, Bure further explained “I think we know the core audience and what they love is exactly how Bill originally built the Hallmark Channel.”

Bounding Into Comics

Big surprise: Bill Abbott knew his audience and reaped the benefit.

So of course the pronoun brigade are out to destroy it.
