Americans Want It, the Dems Block It

A clear majority of voters back the SAVE America Act – so why is it stalled?

Only in a clown world would this be a ‘controversial’ idea. The Good Oil. Image by Lushington Brady.

Lest anyone doubt that the ‘divided America’ of legacy media narrative is purely a cheap left-wing political construct, merely consider the following. The Obama-era ‘border czar’ who deported nearly a million people was given a presidential award and showered with Democrat and legacy media adulation. The Trump-era border czar has deported just two-thirds as many people and is demonised as a ‘fascist’ by the Democrats and the legacy media.

Here’s the kicker: they’re the same person. Tom Homan.

Similarly, if you were to believe the Democrats and the legacy media, the SAVE America Act, whose centrepiece is requiring ID to vote and entrenching citizen-only voting, is ‘deeply divisive’. The polls say otherwise.

71% of voters support the SAVE America Act (Democrats: 50%; Republicans: 91%; Independents: 69%), with 54% prioritizing stopping voter fraud over access concerns for eligible citizens.

The majority of voters support specific requirements of the Act, including proof of citizenship (75%), voter ID (81%), states removing non-citizens from voter rolls (80%), and states sharing redacted voting rolls with the Department of Homeland Security (61%).

73% of voters say we should have a national law requiring all ballots to be counted within 24 hours of Election Day.

The same poll shows that voters aren’t swallowing the legacy media lies on voter fraud, either. A majority of voters (58 per cent) and a super-majority of Republicans (77 per cent) believe there is at least some voter fraud in US elections.
But it is who is allowed to vote that really unites Americans: 85 per cent of voters, with strong majorities across both parties, say only US citizens should be allowed to vote.

Yet, the Democrats and RINOs persist in trying to torpedo the SAVE America Act, to a yapping chorus of legacy media approval.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said he plans to move quickly to advance President Donald Trump’s signature voter ID legislation through the arduous budget reconciliation process once the House returns to Washington, downplaying the heightened tensions within the GOP after he sent lawmakers home early for the holidays after a few Republicans brought the floor to a halt.

This is the same commonsense package the House has already passed multiple times. It targets the very vulnerabilities that allow non-citizens, dead people and multiple voting to undermine trust in the system. Yet Democrats and their media allies scream ‘voter suppression’ at measures supported by overwhelming majorities, including half of their own voters.

The hypocrisy is breathtaking. When Barack Obama’s border enforcer was deporting record numbers, it was hailed as responsible governance. When Donald Trump demands basic safeguards like ID to vote – something most developed democracies take for granted – it’s suddenly a threat to democracy itself. The same crowd that spent years insisting ‘no one is above the law’ now treats citizenship as an optional extra at the ballot box.

The RINOs in the Senate are just as pathetic, with some warning reconciliation might not fly and others clinging to the filibuster like a security blanket. But the public isn’t buying the delay tactics. When 85 per cent of voters across the spectrum agree only citizens should vote, the real division isn’t between parties, it’s between the ruling class and everyone else.

The legacy media and Democrat machine have spent years gaslighting the public about ‘misinformation’ and ‘threats to democracy’ while defending practices that erode the most fundamental democratic norm of all: one citizen, one vote. Trump and Johnson are simply insisting on what the vast majority of Americans already demand.

The SAVE America Act isn’t divisive. The refusal to secure elections is. And the longer the Democrats and their institutional cheer squad pretend otherwise, the clearer it becomes who is really trying to divide America.
