Another Timeline for Hipkins, Ardern and Bloomfield

If the government did not turn over every stone, it is an absolutely appalling episode in the history of our nation.

During March 2021 I was contacted by a very highly credible NZer (now US citizen) who was working for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Albany, NY.

Regeneron is a US$31.3 billion company. They had chosen not to do mRNAs. Instead, they developed the mono-clonal antibody – which NZ eventually bought.

This person informed me that he was working on the line for the production of the antibody. There was no pecuniary interest in this for him, but he felt that the health authorities in NZ ought to know about the product. In the course of the conversation, I asked why his company had chosen to focus on treatments – as opposed to vaccines. His response suggested that they had done extremely comprehensive testing of the transmission efficacy of the mRNAs against the Covid 19 variants (then Beta and Delta – later Omicron) and that the data from that would also be of high interest to our health authorities. I asked how that data could be communicated – he suggested direct contact from our MoH to the company leads.

March 27, 2021 – I communicated via email to Ashley Bloomfield and asked for a conversation.

March 29, 2021 – Maddy Matthews, senior advisor, contacted me. I asked for discretion and we had a Zoom meeting (which she recorded) at approx 4.30pm.

At the time the main point I felt I was communicating was about the treatment (which NZ finally purchased late in the year).

But I also made very clear that it was strongly recommended that they talk to the leads at Regeneron about mRNA vaccine efficacy against transmission.

Regeneron had tested the mRNAs against “4 trillion variants” and found very poor efficacy against transmission.

I had not fully considered the implications of my conversations, as the PM (I assume supported by Hipkins and Bloomfield) had assured NZ that people were free to make their choices.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern went a step further, saying not only will there be no forced vaccinations, but those who choose to opt-out won’t face any penalties at all.

However – everything switched and mandates were imposed for many workers in New Zealand – private and public sector. The non-double vaccinated were declared to be second-class citizens. When Hipkins imposed the mandate for educators I immediately handed in my Teacher Registration – a small act of protest that people should not be treated in this manner. Below is what I sent to the Teaching Council.

Hello Lesley

Last week’s declaration by Pfizer that the mRNA vaccines were not tested for vaccine efficacy remove all justification for any mandate. As was obvious at the time – a RAT testing regime was a much better plan for schools and teachers – many of whom had dedicated their adult lives to children.

1. To show that the council did not act very poorly you would need to show clear evidence that you had viewed research that supported a level of transmission efficacy.

In April 2021, through a close personal contact at one of the USA’s best regarded pharmaceuticals I was able to provide evidence to the government and MoH (along with a contact pathway to their execs) that the mRNAs were almost completely ineffective against Omicron (and millions of simulated variants) – again – removing all grounds for mandating teachers.

2. To show that the council did not act very poorly you would need to show clear evidence that you had acted in your independent role and viewed research that supported a level of transmission efficacy and asked deep questions of the MoH.

Your decisions destroyed people’s careers and damaged the education of NZ children. That there was no justification for the mandated was/is clear. Everyone else was doing it is no justification.

So – to me the crux of the issue is:

  • Did the MOH/Bloomfield/Govt – fully follow up with Regeneron on transmission efficacy.
  • If the answer is yes, they need to release what they were told and how they continuously monitored that data. If the data made clear that there was low/no transmission efficacy – what were the benefits of the mandates?
  • If they did not follow up with such a high-quality company – with crucial data – they have simply been criminally negligent and need to be held accountable.

People’s careers, livelihoods, marriages were destroyed by these mandates. People took their own lives through the social isolation induced. Schools were decimated through the loss of great educators and the huge decline in enrolment, attendance and achievement. If the government did not turn over every stone, it is an absolutely appalling episode in the history of our nation.

If the MoH (and Bloomfield) are fully confident in all of their decisions and have the comms and data to back it up, then they have nothing to fear from an incredibly full and detailed inquiry the NZ population deserves.

To Summarise

– By April of 2021 the MoH (i.e., Bloomfield and co) knew that the mRNAs were not preventing virus transmission.

– despite that knowledge they continuously expanded vaccine mandates on the basis of “preventing transmission”. This was for both private and state sector employees.

– thousands of people’s careers were destroyed.

Will Bloomfield and Hipkins respond to this?
