Jacinda Ardern’s spurious ideology has, by its very nature, had its day. It will ruin this country both economically and socially. It is an agenda that all left-wing governments are trying to impose on their people but it won’t work. Left-wing politicians, as is well known by those on the right, are not renowned for being the sharpest knife in the drawer. In fact, they’re about as blunt as their undemocratic rhetoric.
The left just doesn’t get it that their philosophies are from a bygone age. They are simply not applicable in the twenty-first century. Their problem is that to them capitalism is evil. It’s evil because it’s takes too much control out of the government’s hands. That control, to them, is the advantage of socialism: the government controls the lives of its comrades and they dutifully obey.
So how to implement this socialist agenda? Taking away people’s freedoms such as freedom of speech is a good start. Covid has proven a good trial for this. Look what happened, Ardern won the election in a landslide. No doubt a lot of the votes were people demonstrating a vote of thanks for saving their lives. She in reality did no such thing. It was thanks to our geographical location and small population.
All those people who voted for her have done is to further embolden her. She now thinks she has a mandate to not only save your lives but RULE your lives. If we are not careful we will see her Marxist agenda in full throttle. Whether it will work or not is of little concern to the lady; it’s the implementation of it that’s important. There is already ample evidence that it doesn’t work, but that to her is not the point.
Poverty, housing affordability and as a result homelessness have increased; teen suicide, teen pregnancy, and obesity: in all of these statistics we rank poorly amongst OECD countries. But no matter, Venezuela hasn’t done very well either. Solving poverty, she told us, was why she came into politics. But that didn’t work so she’s decided to move on. No more hugs and kisses for those on struggle street. They must get on as best they can. The easy answer is to just stick them in a motel somewhere. At least they don’t risk that tricky Covid. The hotels are full of them.
No, she’s been saved by climate change. Having failed to achieve anything of note in the social area, apart from increasing welfare numbers she tells us she’s not going to hold back on climate change. Are we to assume that she is just going to accept the report in its entirety and go hell for leather? This is where she is dangerous. Most of what I’ve read of from the report is totally unrealistic and economically unsustainable. It risks sending us into third-world status. To implement a lot of what is in the report would be to welcome economic suicide.
Never mind, that’s the new bandwagon that she will inevitably fall off. I assume that’s her plan B. Does she have a plan C? You bet! Only this week as she proudly announced another day off for her team of five million, she proclaimed changes to how New Zealand history will be taught in schools. These were foundational changes, she said, and would be the ones she would be most proud of at the end of her term in office.
And those left on struggle street? As happened prior to 2017, it will be left to National again to make a difference, just as it did under the stewardship of Bill English.
