After the FA comes the FO and it’s invariably glorious. It came for Tenacious D, hard, when they mouthed off at a live event. Now, it’s come for another pair of loudmouthed lefty haters.
The State Department has officially revoked the visas for Bob Vylan, the British rap duo who went viral over the weekend after leading a chant at England’s annual Glastonbury Music Festival that called for the death of Israeli soldiers.
A senior State Department official confirmed to The Daily Wire that the visas were revoked on Monday, ahead of the duo’s roughly twenty-city tour through the United States, with performances planned in several major cities, including Washington, DC.
That’s a whole lotta money they’re going to lose. Touring is about the only way musical acts can make money these days. They’ve just pissed that away.
Spare me the pearl-clutching over ‘freedom of speech’, too. For starter, incitement to violence has never been covered by free speech rights.
“The @StateDept has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants. Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau wrote on X.
“As a reminder, under the Trump Administration, the US government will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists,” the senior official said on Sunday ahead of the revocation, signaling to The Daily Wire that action would be on the horizon on Monday..
For seconds, to use the left’s own mantra: freedom of speech isn’t freedom from consequences. Bans and cancellations aren’t a war we wanted, but it’s the war the left started. So, all the bets are off. Just as the last lot who hated Jews so violently, the Nazis who thought they could bomb British cities and not face the consequences, the left thought they could start a cancel culture war and escape the consequences. If it’s cancel culture they want, it’s cancel culture they shall have.
It’s the only way they’ll learn.
Until then, we can all enjoy the demented screeching as they realise they’re being hoist on their own petards.
On Monday, Bob Vylan was dropped by their agents at United Talent Agency (UTA), reported Deadline […]
“UTA has moved swiftly to drop Bob Vylan, the punk duo at the heart of a scandal in the UK over their performance at Glastonbury Festival,” Deadline reported on Monday. “Deadline understands that UTA executives made the call over the weekend to part ways with Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan after assessing what was said on stage. … UTA insiders are thought to have shared the sentiments of Glastonbury organizers, who said that Vylan overstepped the mark with his comments on stage. UTA declined to comment, but the band’s page has been scrubbed from the agency’s website.”
A quick glance at UTA’s management profile should have been warning enough to the idiot rappers. It’s a role-call of West Hollywood’s Jewish set: David Kramer, Jay Sures (who had a close-and-personal brush with ‘pro-Palestine’ Jew-haters, when they besieged his house and harassed his family and neighbours, earlier this year) and Jeremy Zimmer (who in 2022 called for a boycott of Kanye West, over the latter’s anti-Semitic comments).
Now, we all know musicians aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed as a rule, but here’s some advice even the thickest rapper should be able to process: best not to call for killing Jews when Sheldon Schmucklestein is writing your pay cheques.
