It’s doubly ironic that the left in recent years peddled a Bowdlerised, deliberately misrepresented, version of Karl Popper’s “Paradox of Tolerance” argument. Firstly, because they were and are the sort of violently intolerant bigots whom Popper argued should be outlawed: those who “answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols”.
Secondly, because now that the Trump administration is putting Popper’s admonition into practice, the left who smugly made his argument into a meme and wielded a decade-plus of unconscionable lawfare and thuggish street violence are squealing like stuck pigs.
Because, make no mistake, Trump is coming for their entire hate-industrial complex.
Republican Rep Anna Paulina Luna of Florida – in a move she signaled as recently as July – has formally asked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to consider freezing the assets of Neville Roy Singham, a 71-year-old tech mogul with ties to the Chinese Communist Party and a history of funding extreme left-wing groups.
This should be just the beginning. We’re looking at you, George Soros.
For instance, [Rep James Comer of Kentucky, chair of the House Oversight Committee] and Luna accused Singham of funding the June riots in Los Angeles. Those riots, of course, targeted agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Moreover, Singham “has created an elaborate dark money network that allows him to send funds to a series of non-profits.” And those nonprofits reportedly have connections to the Chinese Communist government.
Now, do the sprawling web of dark money flowing from Islamist regimes and the Muslim Brotherhood into Islamic activist in the West. When even the tiniest groups of barely dozens of Muslims in some Back-of-Bourke Australian country town are building sprawling mosques and madrassas, there’s an obvious money trail to be pursued.
The big question is whether congressional Republicans have the stomach to actually do anything.
Luna pushed to freeze Bingham’s assets long before Kirk’s assassination. So this does not constitute a new development.
On the other hand, the murder of a conservative icon has sharpened everyone’s focus, not to mention their resolve. The list of prominent Republicans who have pledged to turn righteous anger into action includes President Donald Trump and Vice President J D Vance.
Make no mistake, these are not the harmless lefty types you could once have a civil disagreement with. Kirk’s murder, and especially the reaction to it, has exposed just how widespread the unhinged hate and appetite for violence has become on the mainstream left.
Charlie was not killed in a vacuum – he was assassinated by a sociopolitical disease. A disease that rots the mind, corrupts the heart, and dissolves every sacred bond that holds a civilisation together. And that disease was not born yesterday. It has been sown deliberately, watered relentlessly, and cultivated day after day, decade after decade, by the very people now offering their condolences.
So, spare us their crocodile tears, which mostly only flow when they face the consequences of their hateful glee at a decent man’s murder.
Their words are ash. Their outrage is theater. Their sympathy is counterfeit […]
The left does not get to cry over the corpse of the man whose murder was made possible by the poison they brewed. They do not get to condemn the harvest of the seeds they planted. Their hands are not clean. Their power, their careers, their prominence – all of it has been built on a politics of grievance, resentment, and destruction.
They stoked the envy. They legitimised the rage. They excused the violence. They told generations of young people that life is nothing but power and oppression, that truth is a lie, that responsibility is slavery, that freedom is domination. And then they act surprised when the mob, intoxicated with that creed, takes a knife or a bullet to the throat of those who dared resist it.
Whether it’s Transtifa leftists literally dancing with glee at an assassination, or the mainstream left cuddling right up to anti-Semites and jihadi terrorists, the time has come to cut the head off the snake.
