Chicago Schools a Hotbed of Groomers

Tell me this isn’t grooming. The BFD.

I know the whole “Grooming” thing can sound hyperbolic to the point of foil-hat stuff — until the news goes right ahead and proves that it’s true. Once again, the difference between “conspiracy theory” and “headlines” is about a few weeks at best.

So, when I argue that schools are a worse hotbed of paedophilia than the Catholic Church, I’m not just whistling out my clacker. A recent Tasmanian report found that 41 current education staff were “of concern”.

But that’s nothing compared to the US city of Chicago.

Hundreds of Chicago teachers and school officials sexually groomed and sexually assaulted students or engaged in policy violations over the past four years, according to a report released this week.

The Chicago Public Schools Office of the Inspector General released its annual report Sunday, saying it substantiated more than 70 misconduct allegations out of more than 600 complaints for the 2021-22 school year. Since October 2018, the watchdog said policy violations were found in 302 investigations.

That’s just the ones it was able to substantiate.

One OIG investigation concluded one teacher groomed and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old student three times. That teacher was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault. After a November 2022 trial, the teacher was acquitted on all counts, the report said, despite evidence provided by the student and social media records.

Another investigation revealed a former JROTC staff member had sex with a high school girl over the course of a year when she was 16 to 17 years old, the report said. The girl was also given alcohol and marijuana and purchased marijuana for him, the OIG said.

The pair also exchanged hundreds of text messages and calls.

“I’m ready to f— right now … I’m not gonna be gentle either,” one message read, the report said.

When the staff member became aware he might be under investigation, he allegedly threatened to kill the girl and her family. He was arrested and eventually sentenced to time served and four years probation after pleading guilty to sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse.

These teachers are using classic grooming techniques.

One high school teacher allegedly exchanged 4,000 text messages with a female student, including 400 in one day. The teacher said he was in an open marriage and was “attracted to other people.”

Other incidents included a high school gym teacher allegedly exposing himself to a female student.

Other teachers and administrators were abusing students on outings, including to Broadway shows and, amazingly, trips to Vegas, London, Ibiza and the Bahamas.

The incidence appears to be increasing. From 325 investigations in 2021, the OIG’s Sexual Allegations Unit (SAU) opened 447 investigations in 2022.

The investigations also substantiate claims by parents and conservative groups that the overt sexualisation of school curricula amounts to grooming behaviour.

The CPS teacher allegedly talked to students about their sex lives in person and through social media, cell phones, and “other common grooming techniques,” according to the OIG […] Several of the open cases involved CPS-affiliated adults exposing students to pornographic images.

So, what’s the difference between that vile behaviour, and “gender” programs that quiz children even in their first years of primary school about their “gender orientation” and sexuality? Or “LGBTQI” programs that fill school libraries with books full of overtly pornographic imagery?
