So, the US Democrats have finally dumped Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. Not because of the huge SS Totenkopf tattoo he proudly sported for over a decade. Not because he was allegedly skiving on veteran’s benefits while working a physically gruelling job. Not because of the accusations of abuse from multiple women. But because an accusation was finally made by a woman who isn’t a conservative.
A woman who dated Maine US Senate candidate Graham Platner says he forced her to have sex with him nearly five years ago despite her repeated objections, an allegation Platner denies.
[Jenny Racicot] said she later felt compelled to go public about her experience because the reaction to the Times story was dominated by controversy about another woman, Lyndsey Fifield, who alleged Platner mistreated her and faced attacks because of her ties to the Republican Party.
Fifield was subjected to repeated attacks from the media because she is a conservative. The claim was that her accusations were ‘politically motivated’. As Fifield has pointed out, she wasn’t the only woman to make similar accusations, but the media ignored them all, except her. As a conservative, she was an easy target for attack. She later said she was set up by the New York Times. “The journalists I trusted who convinced me to share a story I never wanted to tell methodically delayed and twisted this into a gift to the Platner campaign.”
But the real jaw-dropper is not that Racicot finally went public, or that the legacy media finally decided to believe a woman only because she is a leftist. No, the absolute clanger is Racicot’s own justification for why she took so long to go public.
Racicot said she was torn over coming forward in part because she agrees with Platner politically.
“One of the reasons I didn’t come forward sooner was, the huge moral conflict that I had between supporting his politics, but not supporting him as a person,” she said.
Read that again, and pick your jaw up from the floor. ‘Yeah, he raped me, but I had to take one for the team.’
As black conservative ‘Shamash Aran’ writes on X: “This is one of those moments where, if your IQ is over 85, your brain quietly excuses itself from the room”.
We have apparently reached a point where politics has become the emotional-support animal for basic human survival instincts. “Yes, this person committed one of the worst crimes imaginable against me, but we both liked the same tax policy. Awkward.”
The left love to sneer that ‘MAGA is a cult’, but what could be more cult-like behaviour than keeping shtumm about allegedly being raped by one of the priests, because you have to put the cult’s best interests first?

What’s sad isn’t just that people end up there. It’s that many of them don’t even realize it. They sincerely believe they’re making a principled decision when, from the outside, everyone else is wondering why the obvious isn’t obvious any more.
Yet here we are: a woman who says she was raped by a man with an SS death’s-head tattoo stayed silent for years because he waved the right progressive flags. The media’s performance was equally grotesque. Multiple women had already spoken. Only the Republican-linked one was treated as fair game for character assassination. The rest were ignored until a politically convenient accuser appeared, at which point the Democrats abruptly discovered standards and dumped their tattooed bruiser.
This is what identity politics does. It turns every moral question into a loyalty test. Rape is no longer rape if the perpetrator is on the correct side of the ledger. Just look at how quick left-wing women were, and still are, to deny or excuse the horrific mass-rapes by Hamas on Oct 7 and after.
When ‘he’s one of us’ outweighs ‘he raped me’, the cult has won. And the bill for that victory is paid in ruined lives and a society that can no longer tell right from wrong without first checking the party membership card.
