I adhered to my usual habit and didn’t bother tuning in for the daily telling off from she who thinks she must be obeyed. Instead, I turned to the local rag. As far as I’m concerned I don’t need to be lectured to by someone born some decades after I was. Throughout this health debacle, I have chosen to use commonsense over political left-wing hysteria foisted upon me by someone with an agenda detrimental to our country. If the woman thinks I am going to buckle under due to her dictatorial utterances she can think again.
The daily diatribe she spouts now is akin to a mouldy loaf of bread. We wouldn’t consume the bread and fewer are consuming the message. It’s the same stale old stuff about keeping your distance and acting as if you’ve got the virus. That being the case we may as well all turn up at ICU as effectively that’s where she’s got us. The early afternoon circus fronted by the two autocrats is now nothing more than an electioneering platform whereby we will continually be told how wonderful she and her band of useless fellow travellers are. How she’s saved us from an early grave and how her Government will save us going forward.
Then there will be those who she thinks deserve a telling off. On Thursday, it was the turn of owners of food outlets and those working in the kitchen. I’m not sure what people in the kitchen were being reprimanded for unless they were serving burnt burgers. She also yapped at people waiting for possibly burnt meals to keep their distance. The Government expects high standards and we take these issues very seriously she said. Yeah right! There’s her Health Minister beaching, biking and moving house, all in lockdown. A Tui ad right there! I’m aware she has a communications degree but how about practising what you preach? Hypocrisy of the highest order.
It is also worth noting that the police state is alive and well. As of 5.30 pm on Tuesday there had been 1,035 complaints about breaching the very issues Ms A and Dr B keep haranguing us about. 277 have been referred to the compliance assessment team. Who the hell are they? Of those, 104 have been tasked with further action by the Police or other Government agencies. All essential work of course. The Government is monitoring news and social media to follow up breaches. Really? I want to know where the laws are on the statute books for all of this communist type activity.
Police are working alongside iwi checkpoints to make sure they are legal and safe. Ardern said members of the public cannot set them up.
THAT IS RACISM! PURE AND SIMPLE. NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS. IT IS A DISGRACE.
We, the public, need to sit up and take notice of what is going on here. Anyone who believes in any form of democracy should be shocked beyond belief at what is happening. If, in fact, the Police are happy with all of this then it is a very different organisation from the one we thought we knew.
People being encouraged to go around dobbing other people in in huge numbers should send shivers down any reasonable person’s spine. I am aware an excessive length of enforced home detention can bring about boredom but allowing this sort of behaviour is despicable. Using a health issue to turn New Zealand into some sort of totalitarian state is nothing short of an outrage.
However, knowing the Marxist leanings of the Prime Minister we should not be surprised. She’s in no hurry to get us out of level three, she says. Of course not. That’s not in her political playbook. She must be ecstatic beyond all bounds that this happened so she can get to practice her far-left convictions. She must also be thrilled that there are so many compliant wimps in this country ready to acquiesce to her every unreasonable diktat.
This country is now in dire need of a rebirth, of finding its mojo. It’s time for an avalanche of correspondence to National MPs and David Seymour saying that we are absolutely appalled at what is taking place and we expect them to deliver us a far different New Zealand. Not Labour lite but a country with freedom, democracy, aspiration and adherence to the rule of law.
