Police are looking for sightings of a 75-year-old missing West Coast tramper before the hike he’s now overdue from, as the search hits day five.
Roy Arbon was reported overdue from a walk in the Mt Davy area north of Greymouth on Thursday. He has not been seen since and police said they were concerned for his well being.
Senior Sergeant Mark Kirkwood said officers would continue the search in Greymouth on Monday.
Over the weekend, he said search teams were on the ground in the Mt Davy area, with continued support from Land Search and Rescue volunteers and helicopters.
“Staff have been using all tools and techniques available to them.”
They were also looking for information from anyone who might have seen Arbon on Wednesday morning, when he was heading from Runanga to the Mt Davy on a red bike.
People who had seen him or who had with information on his whereabouts were urged to contact police.
