Reigning US Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester received a huge ovation from spectators at the par-five 13th hole in today’s first round of the Masters.

But it wasn’t for his shotmaking.

The 21-year-old Spaniard had forgotten about nearby restrooms when the need arose for some relief at Augusta National’s 13th green.

“I completely forgot that we had those restrooms to the left of the tee box,” Ballester said. “And then I’m like, I really need to pee.”

Ballester, playing in a high-profile group with two-time major winner Justin Thomas and top-ranked defending champion Scottie Scheffler, urinated into famed Rae’s Creek, a no-regrets moment with his back to the crowd that brought cheers.
