Human Rights Commissioner Paul Hunt

Table of Contents

The actions of the Human Rights Commission and its Commissioner Paul Hunt are completely unacceptable. Instead of standing up for freedom of speech, the Human Rights Commission in 2017 sought a form of ‘hate speech’ laws for New Zealand in a submission to the United Nations.

To make matters even worse, when they were completing a large consultation on proposed hate speech law changes, the Chief Commissioner, Paul Hunt, refused to meet with The Free Speech Coalition on the basis that the Commission was only interested in ‘victims’ of hate speech.

Now in 2021 that same Commissioner Paul Hunt, along with Green Co-leader Marama Davidson, happily accepted an invitation to talk to Mongrel Mob gangsters!
