Fauci’s Wuhan Ties Exposed Further

What, Me? Worried? The BFD. Photoshop by Lushington Brady.

From the very first days of the Wuhan pandemic, there were suggestions that it might be linked to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. That idea was scoffed at for over a year by the media, egged on by certain experts. Of course, not all experts were so quick to dismiss a possible link but they were quickly shouted down by other experts.

Experts, it transpired, with links of their own to the Wuhan Institute – and possibly having very good reasons to want to keep a lid on the lab-leak theory.

None more so, it seems, than America’s COVID leader, Dr Anthony Fauci.

Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Health and other US agencies funded 65 scientific projects at the Wuhan Institute of Virology over the past decade, many involving risky research on bat coronaviruses, an investigation has revealed.

That “risky research” would include gain-of-function. Gain-of-function essentially involves making an organism or disease more contagious and deadly, in order to use it as the basis for possible treatments. The clear risk of such research going very badly wrong – not least its potential for bio-warfare and terrorism – is such that it was banned by the Obama administration.

In testimony to congress, Fauci strongly denied that the NIH funded gain-of-function research at Wuhan. Fauci went so far as to accuse Sen. Rand Paul of being a “liar”.

The analysis of the Wuhan institute’s research has shown that the scale of US support for scientific experiments is more extensive than Dr Fauci has indicated to congress.

The American funding was flowing through to the Wuhan lab, which houses the world’s largest collection of coronavirus samples, even when “gain-of-function” research was banned in the US.

After the 2016 election, it is alleged, Fauci quietly resumed funding gain-of-function without actually informing White House officials. Former secretary of state Mike Pompeo, ex-health secretary Alex Azar and former national security adviser Robert O’Brien were all unaware of what Fauci and the NIH were up to.

“I was in meeting after meeting with Dr Fauci, and that never came up,” Mr O’Brien says in the book. “I don’t know if he alerted anyone. I never heard about it until I was out of office.”

Mr Pompeo, who was director of the CIA from 2017-18, said he did not know if Dr Fauci sought permission from anyone to re-start the dangerous research, particularly with regard to contributing funding via sub-grants to the Wuhan institute.

Dr Fauci did not inform his boss, Mr Azar, who only found out the US restriction on gain-of-function research had been lifted from media reports this year.

Someone has been a naughty boy. A very naughty boy, indeed.

In total, the NIH has funded at least 60 scientific projects at the Wuhan institute over the past decade, according to the analysis of scientific papers done by The Australian in conjunction with US bipartisan taxpayer watchdog group White Coat Waste Project[…]

White Coat Waste Project president Anthony Bellotti said the NIH and other agencies should never have funded these experiments in China.

“Shipping millions of US tax dollars to the dangerous Wuhan animal lab and dozens of other facilities in China where there’s no real transparency and accountability about how the money is spent is a recipe for disaster,” he said.

Like all naughty boys caught with their hand in the cookie jar, Fauci’s first resort has been straight-faced denial.

Dr Fauci has fronted congress denying America funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan and has described the research as a “a very minor collaboration, as part of a subcontract of a grant, we had a collaboration with some Chinese scientists”.

The Australian

Yeah, sure – they were just these guys, you know.

Guys with very dubious connections – connections that Dr Fauci needs to come clean about.

At the very least, Fauci should step down until his connections to the Wuhan Institute are fully investigated.

If the worst allegations are proven, he may well be remembered as perhaps the most dangerous traitor to the West since Klaus Fuchs and Ted Hall sold nuclear secrets to the Soviets.
