Freedom Under Attack From Albanese Government

It is stupid window dressing for laws that are already in effect and already ineffective.

While Australia is undeniably a wealthier country than New Zealand, not every blade of grass is greener. Australian telecommunications coverage and the quality of internet services have long been a key disparity with their smaller neighbour. While the rapid growth of the state has been a justified concern for New Zealanders, settling in Australia makes one realise how relatively small the bureaucracy of New Zealand is. On matters of personal liberty New Zealand is also in front, while this week the Labor Party presents legislation to parliament which would further weaken Australians’ rights. 

Legislation that is set to be introduced by the Labor Government this week includes the Communications Legislation Amendment (Combating Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill; laws to strengthen protection against ‘doxing’, watered down hate crime laws and new minimum ages for the use of social media.
