Government Gives Mongrel Mob $2.5 Million for Drug Rehab

New Zealand’s growing gang numbers are Jacinda Ardern’s “real Kiwis”. The BFD. Photoshop by Lushington Brady.

The Government refuses to fund Gumboot Friday, arguably the best solution for mental health, but seems to have plenty of cash to give to the Mongrel Mob:

A Mongrel Mob-led meth rehabilitation programme funded by the government, involves participants working on a “community garden” on the property of the president of the gang’s ‘’Notorious’’ chapter.

The garden is on a Waipawa property that is home to Sonny Smith and his wife Mahinaarangi Smith, who is a programme facilitator.

The Ministry of Health was successful in applying for funding obtained through the Proceeds of Crime Act, to fund the Kahukura rehabilitation programme at a marae in Waipawa.

The programme was awarded $2.75 million over four years.

The NZ Herald also reports:

Kahukura is expected to run for three cycles of 10 weeks per year over three years, serving up to 10 participants and their whanau – about 40 people – per cycle.

NZ Herald

That is $900,000 per year for 30 people a year or $30,000 per person. It is a 10-week course so they are charging $3,000 a week per person. As they are staying at a marae it seems rather excessive funding.

The Mongrel Mob is of course one of New Zealand’s most violent gangs. They are also deeply entrenched in the methamphetamine crime syndicates, dealing misery and destruction.

It is ridiculous that the Government can fund this but can’t find the money to fund Gumboot Friday.

This Government continues to reinforce the idea that they are crim and gang friendly while at the same time showing their continued hostility to the productive sector who pay the taxes that fund this nonsense.

National needs to run billboards like this:
