If we were to pay attention to the climate hysterics, coal is not just out of style, it’s imminently destined for the dustbin of history.
But then, who apart from idiot politicians, rent-seeking corporates and those weirdo activists glueing themselves to roads, actually pays attention to the climate hysterics?
The reality is that coal is not going anywhere, soon. Just ask China.
If wind and solar power is cheaper than coal, why is China building 95 new coal-fired stations?
It cannot be that China’s leaders are stupid. See how they’ve made China rich.
It cannot be that China’s coal is cheaper and better. It’s actually had to ship in coal that we’ve dug up right here.
Nor can it be that China doesn’t have solar and wind technology. China makes 60 per cent of the world’s solar panels and has the world’s biggest maker of wind turbines.
The Chinese Communist Party is many things — stupid is not one of them. China is building dozens of coal-fired power stations and is clear that it intends to keep on doing so for at least the next 30 years because it knows that coal is the only path to plentiful, reliable electricity — the lifeblood of modern civilisation.
China also knows that the claims that “renewables are cheaper than coal or gas” is just so much wind from idiot ideologues. In this case, not some XR nutter, but the Australian opposition leader.
Unfortunately, too many people, either from stupidity or rent-seeking greed, are falling for the snake oil. “Institutional investors” (meaning, left-wing activists who are using working peoples’ superannuation funds to bully big businesses) are demanding that Australia shut its remaining coal plants — and are getting their way.
This exposes two frightening things.
One is that the media is covering up a collective fit of madness in the West.
No one, not Anthony Albanese, Adam Bandt, or Greta Thunberg, could get away with blithering such obvious nonsense if the media weren’t complicit.
Much of our media now crusades for this new green religion, and you cannot trust them to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
The second thing going on is the China threat.
You may wonder why China – the world’s biggest emitter – is allowed to increase its emissions even more while we in the West kill ourselves trying to cut our own.

Because, at the behest of the global elite, we’ve been hoodwinked into signing crazy agreements like the Paris Agreement. Agreements that explicitly allow a brutal, genocidal communist dictatorship, openly threatening war to get stronger and stronger, at the same time that we cripple the West.
“Catastrophic climate change” alarmism is not “science”: it’s a millenarian suicide cult.
