Hundreds have gathered in Auckland to protest against the Definitions of a Woman and Man Amendment Bill.
Hundreds! That is actually kind of embarrassing considering the bill in question just states the obvious.
People gathered in Myers Park, near Queen St at 12pm on Saturday to “support the trans and intersex community”, and fight the bill, according to the organisers of the event, Rainbow Action Tamaki.
“We will not be divided. We will show them the strength of our community, and that we will not be defined.”
The protest was against the bill proposed by NZ First MP Jenny Marcroft, which would, across all legislation, define the meanings of “female” and “male” as “human biological female/male”, and “woman” and “man” as “adult human biological female/male”.
Right now you might be asking why we need such a bill. All I can think of is that we’re still living in clown world.
Back in May, NZ First leader Winston Peters said the bill “would ensure our country moves away from the woke ideology that has crept in over the last few years, undermining the protection, progression and safety of women.”
[…] The Auckland Women’s Centre spoke on how the Bill would impact intersex and cisgender women alongside transgender rights.
And there goes any credibility that the Auckland Women’s Centre has. If you’re a woman and support the Auckland Women’s Centre, you might like to reconsider your position.
[…] Photos from the scene show people of all ages gathered in the park with signs and transgender flags, before heading off to march down Queen St.
Other protests of the bill have been organised for Wellington, Hamilton, Christchurch and Nelson.
Oh God.
In a statement on Facebook on Saturday evening, Peters was critical of protesters.
“This bill is about protecting women and girls’ rights, freedoms and safety.
“You’re right about one thing, for us to have to legislate this basic biological reality shows how much the woke mind virus has spread in our society.”

13A Meaning of woman or female
In any legislation, regardless of gender identity, –
(a) woman means an adult human biological female; and
(b) female means a human biological female.
13B Meaning of man or male
In any legislation, regardless of gender identity, –
(a) man means an adult human biological male; and
(b) male means a human biological male.
By the way, trans women have now taken to claiming that they are in fact biological women. You couldn’t make this stuff up.
