Left Wing Media – We’ve Had Enough

The people running woke leftist news channels and newspapers either just don’t get it or are happy to see their businesses slide into irrelevancy. The only way they are going to survive long term is to ditch their woke narrative.

If the American election showed one thing it is this – globally the left mainstream media have made themselves irrelevant. We know it. Elon Musk knows it. Bobby Kennedy knows it. Tulsi Gabbard knows it. Donald Trump knows it. The millions in the MAGA movement know it. It is apparent from the election result that the majority of Americans know it too.

The left-wing media in America have preferred to make themselves look idiots rather than broadcast the undeniable truth. This is because it didn’t suit their narrative. Their narrative, rather than the truth, is their obsession. In the election they obsessed over issues that were at odds with public thinking.

MSNBC and CNN, two of the major left-wing channels in America, are all about DEI (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion) and all the other woke stuff. There are some in the Democrats who are saying that woke-speak should be gone from both the party and the left-wing media. The problem is neither the party nor their friends in the media want to hear that.

MSNBC has lost 55 per cent of its audience SINCE THE ELECTION. The owners have now had enough and are reportedly putting it up for sale. The reason their audience is disappearing is because they are spouting the same propaganda after the election as they did before it. Their narrative hasn’t changed.

They are saying Trump making inroads into the black vote, the Hispanic vote, the Latino vote and that winning the male vote and the popular vote overall is all down to ‘white supremacy’. They have one lady presenter who does one hour a week and is paid $30 million. Yes, you read that right. They have no more idea about money than their leftist friends in politics.

Then we get to the CNN (Completely Not Normal) channel. They used to be the most-watched news network in America; now, like their left-wing cousins at MSNBC, virtually nobody is watching them. Only five million watched their election coverage. Millions are deserting CNN for the same reasons Tulsi Gabbard left the Democratic Party.

Hundreds of jobs are going or have already gone. Some of you who watch American news outlets might remember Chris Wallace, who worked at Fox News. Following Trump’s election loss in 2020 he switched to CNN in 2021 where he has been on a salary of $8.5 million. He has now resigned following Trump’s re-election. Anderson Cooper, who is regarded as their top presenter, is paid $20 million. Again, clueless about money.

Here at home we are watching the same thing playing out at TVNZ and the media in general. NZME has announced the probable closure of 14 regional newspapers. We are aware that Stuff, the producer of Three News, is not the healthiest of businesses either. In the UK, GB News has become very popular at the expense of the BBC. In Australia, Sky News is the most popular news channel.

In America Newsmax is so popular it has listed as a public company. Podcasters like Megan Kelly, Joe Rogan, Barry Cunningham and Candace Owens are listened to by millions. What all these broadcasters/podcasters have in common is they have a right-wing narrative. This aligns with what is happening politically around the world.

The people running the woke leftist news channels and newspapers either just don’t get it or are happy to see their businesses slide into irrelevancy. The only way they are going to survive long term is to ditch their woke narrative. People are against it and don’t want it. But on they go, while watching over ever-declining advertising revenues and subsequent job layoffs. Viewing and listening habits have changed, but they haven’t.

It is very doubtful TVNZ will ever be profitable again. Its news hour is a disgrace and the same goes for Three News. Begone with both of them! We’ve had enough!
