It seems the direction the country is going will be determined by the Climate Commission, not least in reference to the name of our island group where in their ridiculous report, released this week, we are referred to as Aotearoa 435 times in its 188 pages–yes, you read that correctly–and as New Zealand a mere 65.
Given the uncertainties, wishful thinking, cringe-worthy ‘targets’ and arrogant dismissal of problems their wish-list will cause I suggest we will no longer be known as New Zealand, but as Full Numpty.
I wonder how long it will be before Australia puts restrictions on Kiwis entering the country as tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, every year, seek to leave this place in search of a home where some heads, at least, aren’t screwed on backwards.
One thing is confirmed in the report: the cost to the country will be $250,000,000,000+ over the next thirty years–more than a quarter-of-a-trillion dollars–and, like every negative of this stupid and costly plan, is simply dismissed as a trifle:
“This the equivalent of taking another 6 to 7 months to get to the same level of GDP as under current policy settings.”
Such arrogance, such condescension is breath-taking. Put another way, as in the Treasury documents produced last year: each and every single household income in the country of Full Numpty will be worse off by $17,000, every year, year-on-year:
There are so many doubts, guesses, risks, dopey dreams and don’t knows in the report, all dismissed with wishful thinking, but at least some honesty about ‘uncertainties’:
“There is much uncertainty in embarking on this decades-long transition.”
You don’t say? That statement immediately followed by the utterly preposterous:
“Uncertainty is not a reason for delay.”
Yes it is, Stupid.
Only compulsive gamblers, and greenies it seems, believe ‘Uncertainty is not a reason for delay’. At least problem gamblers are not intent on taking the entire country down with them.
What are you going to do, National Party? Excoriate this nonsense and stand up for New Zealand’s livelihoods, or are you going to embrace the Comrades’ Republic of Full Numpty too?
