What is interesting about this NZ Herald article is the elephant in the room that they determinedly tip-toe around, averting their eyes and pretending it doesn’t exist.

Little said  […] the government was taking several measures to increase the workforce.

[…] solutions, such as increasing the workforce and a new ED, would take time. All that could be done in the short term – and that staff were already doing – was to pull out all the stops, he said.

They talk about the problem but don’t mention a very obvious solution… nurses and doctors and other medical professionals who have been mandated out of the Public Health system.

Why won’t they talk about them? Why won’t they ask Andrew Little about them?
