Day 9 Sunday: Mass, Sushi and a Panto

Inmate 356 and I had FaceTime with Tyler*. He said he would bring us more wine! We need it!

We watched Mass from St James’ Spanish Place. The vigil of the day was the Baptism of the Lord in the Jordan. We then went round and round the 5th floor ‘Roof Garden’ to the tune of 5,000 paces or 6 km and then had sushi for lunch. It was very good but was a New Zealand version of sushi with tuna.

After lunch we did another 5,000 steps outside in the forecourt.

After supper, which was actually HOT tomatoey penne, we watched Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson, Emma Thompson and Kevin Klein. It was great panto stuff though the computer graphics were a bit dated.

We finished the day with an evening prayer and bed.

Day 10 Monday: A Plunge from the 12th Floor!

We did 5,000 paces down in the forecourt as well as some press-ups and other exercises then had great fun watching the fate of a child’s white horse which fell out of a balcony from right up on the 11th or 12th floor of flats opposite. It was saved by a man putting it on a car rather than letting the litter collector collect it. Then it was gone! Then another toy got chucked over. Clearly, the mother was completely oblivious!

Roger*. (George’s* right-hand man) rings to ask when we would like to be released on Saturday. He says, anytime between 11am  and 1pm?

11 am on the dot please, we say. I thank him for all the care we had been receiving. We truly think it’s amazing how they contained the virus, and the minor inconvenience is worth it.

Once more we go to the 5th floor garden walk (and do a total of >10,000 paces again) and then have our supper.
