Dear Nursing Council
Re: Nursing Councils Commitment to the ‘Pride Pledge’
Nurses for Freedom NZ agrees with the Nursing Council’s recent media release relating to the support of the ‘Pride Pledge’ which recognises the need to provide an inclusive, safe, and welcoming workplace, especially considering the statutory role of nurses in New Zealand.
We concur that nurses are a cornerstone of everyone’s health and disability support experience as many are regularly supported by, cared for, and treated and advised by nurses across their whole lives.
In regulating sound and ethical, evidence-based nursing practice and education to ensure public health safety, we do however have serious concerns that the ‘inclusive, safe and welcoming workplace’ claimed by the Nursing Council towards members of the Pride Community is inauthentic. This is because, contrary to the well-established, anti-discrimination Human Rights laws and international agreements, including the fundamental principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the ‘Pride Pledge’ policy does not include nurses who choose not to take the Covid-19 ‘vaccination’ or those who have taken it, and have subsequently been injured as a result.
Furthermore, we also believe it is the statutory duty of the Nursing Council and every individual nurse, to provide patients with full and informed consent, in this instance relating to the Covid-19 vaccination. Evidence suggests that valid informed consent is not currently being delivered to patients in New Zealand, all of whom have a right to the scientific facts about the balance of risks and harms, as set out clearly in many academic articles, including this one by world-leading cardiologist, Dr Aseem Malhotra.
Much time has passed. Worldwide, our healthcare systems are in crisis. When will the NZ Nursing Council acknowledge the weight of global evidence, including legal caselaw, and excess all-cause mortality (unrelated to Covid) in countries which have highly ‘vaccinated’ populations, that makes continued support for Covid-19 ‘vaccine’ mandates unscientific and illogical? This time last year, The Lancet published a comment entitled: ‘Covid-19 vaccine efficacy and effectiveness—the elephant (not) in the room’. The authors stated that although attention has focused on vaccine efficacy and comparing the reduction of the number of symptomatic cases, fully understanding the efficacy and effectiveness of vaccines is less straightforward than it might seem, depending on how the effect size is expressed. The authors commented:
“Vaccine efficacy is generally reported as a relative risk reduction (RRR). It uses the relative risk (RR)—i.e., the ratio of attack rates with and without a vaccine—which is expressed as 1–RR. Ranking by reported efficacy gives relative risk reductions of 95% for the Pfizer–BioNTech, 94% for the Moderna– NIH, 91% for the Gamaleya, 67% for the J&J, and 67% for the AstraZeneca–Oxford vaccines. However, RRR should be seen against the background risk of being infected and becoming ill with COVID-19, which varies between populations and over time. Although the RRR considers only participants who could benefit from the vaccine, the absolute risk reduction (ARR), which is the difference between attack rates with and without a vaccine, considers the whole population. ARRs tend to be ignored because they give a much less impressive effect size than RRRs: 1·3% for the AstraZeneca–Oxford, 1·2% for the Moderna–NIH, 1·2% for the J&J, 0·93% for the Gamaleya, and 0·84% for the Pfizer–BioNTech vaccines.”
This and other important factors, highlight worldwide, growing evidence that calls for an immediate halt for all Covid-19 ‘vaccinations’, and a full, independent investigation of the censorship, regulatory capture and the harms that have been caused by the Covid-19 policies.
Nurses for Freedom NZ would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with the Nursing Council its commitment to the values expressed through the Pride Pledge, specifically with regard to the role of unvaccinated nurses in the public health workforce and informed consent around the continued emergency use Covid-19 ‘vaccine’.
Kind regards
