We’re so used to the staggering hypocrisy of the climate-bothering elite that we’ve even got a word for them: eco-crites. These are the people who use fleets of private jets to swan about the world from one exotic destination to another (and sometimes Glasgow), from whence to wag their fingers at the rest of us about our wicked, planet-killing ways.
It’s not that they’re completely unaware of their hypocrisy: hence the whining of the likes of Leonardo di Caprio that it’s ok for him to belch out the carbon emissions of the average African country, because he’s raising awareness. Oh, he’s raising awareness, all right: awareness of the yawning gap between the climate class’ rhetoric and their reality.
The sheer scale of the eco-crites mendaciousness is staggering.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has spent over $500,000 on private jets since 2020 despite repeatedly describing climate change as an “existential” threat the U.S. has a “moral” obligation to address.
According to campaign filings with the Federal Election Commission, Pelosi’s campaign paid a Virginia-based private aviation provider, Advanced Aviation Team, over $437,000 between October 2020 and December 2021 and over $65,000 to Clay Lacy Aviation, a California-based private jet provider.
Private jets are notoriously bad for the environment, producing significantly more emissions per passenger than commercial flights. Pelosi’s campaign spent $67,605 on private air travel just months before she said she viewed tackling the climate crisis as a “religious thing.”
“For me, it’s a religious thing,” she said in November after leading a 21-member congressional delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland. “I believe this is God’s creation, and we have a moral obligation to be good stewards.”
Like a great many holier-than-thou preachers, Pelosi is a monstrous hypocrite. As are her fellow climate preachers.
The campaign for President Biden, who promised to make climate change a key priority of his presidency, spent over $15 million on private air travel over the course of his 2020 campaign. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has also been vocal about climate change and being “committed to curbing the effects of climate change,” but they have paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars to Advanced Aviation Team in recent years.

But if we’re talking political eco-crites, few are as egregious as Biden’s “climate czar” John Kerry.
Data compiled by the flight tracking firm FlightAware and obtained by Fox News show that John Kerry’s family Gulfstream GIV-SP spent around 22 hours and 22 minutes in the air over the past year.
Using Paramount Business Jets emissions calculator, Fox News found that Kerry’s planed accumulated an estimated 116 metric tons of carbon between trips dating from Feb. 9, 2020, to Jan. 10, 2021.
For comparison, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that the typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year.

So, Kerry’s flying habits alone belch out more carbon dioxide than nearly 30 ordinary Americans. It’s 15 times the average Briton’s total emissions.
That doesn’t, of course, account for the gargantuan carbon footprint of the rest of his mega-wealthy lifestyle. It’s estimated that the top 1% — in which group the $200 million-wealthy Kerry easily fits — is responsible for up to 50% of global emissions.
Never you mind that, peasant: just shut up and eat your cold soy beans in the dark.
