As many of you will know, Classic Fighters will be running a world-class airshow out of the Omaka airfield near Blenheim over Easter this year, from 19th ? 21st April 2019.
This post is for anyone who is interested in going to the airshow and who wants to upgrade to a double happy event by meeting other Whaleoil readers.
We?ll set up a contact list to share information. If there is interest, we will organise a few different events, and you can join in as much or as little as you want.
We have these suggestions so far:
- Bacon Breakfast BBQ Saturday morning ? line up a few grills and cook some meat. Bacon, pork sausages, bacon, pork sausages with a side of bacon. Breakfast of champions, the perfect start to a day of warbird watching. All using non-halal Whale Meat Company Meat.
- Minivan tour ? pies/wine/beer, sample the delights the region has on offer, including the famous Burleigh pie
- Book some time at the local gun club
- Visit the Whaleoil famous ?holy? Blenheim bus shelter ? what a great spot for a Whaleoil group photo.
- Fishing
- Salmon farm tour
If you live locally and are willing to organise an activity or help out with anything, let me know.
Obviously, it?s going to be very busy in Blenheim, and accommodation is already quite heavily booked. If you haven?t already made travel plans, now?s the time to do it.
For those with campers or caravans, we have a couple of Whaleoil readers that have space for camper vans including power and toilets.
There is also Smiths Farm Holiday Park at Linkwater is about 40 minutes drive from Blenheim.
Here?s a link to the Classic Fighters website which has all the details about the airshow and where you can purchase tickets.
If there?s anything you?d be interested in doing, whether it?s already on the list or not, let me know.
Our fabulous photoshopping team have been busy in the engine room and have created two different images that we have made into t-shirts.
You can order these here at the Whaleoil swag store. Keep in mind that you will need to allow at least 4 weeks delivery time using the cheapest shipping option to receive your swag in time for the event.
Anyone wishing to make contact for any of the above should email: events at whaleoil.co.nz with Omaka in the subject line.
