In the immediate aftermath of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump it was a strong and defiant Trump who stood and raised his fist to show the crowd he was fine despite the attempt on his life and his own blood dripping from his face.

And then the media and left howled about it.

But Trump knows what he is about and knows the symbolism of his stance:

Former President Donald Trump in a new interview described his thinking when he stood up and raised his fist as he was bleeding from the ear and surrounded by Secret Service agents after his assassination attempt at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (local time), CNN reported.

“The energy coming from the people there in that moment, they just stood there; it’s hard to describe what that felt like, but I knew the world was looking. I knew that history would judge this, and I knew I had to let them know we are OK,” Trump told the Washington Examiner.

He said the reality of what happened at the rally was “just setting in.”

“I rarely look away from the crowd. Had I not done that in that moment, well, we would not be talking today, would we?”

Trump said his speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee would be completely different after what happened on Saturday (local time).

“Honestly, it’s going to be a whole different speech now.

“This is a chance to bring the whole country, even the whole world, together. The speech will be a lot different, a lot different than it would’ve been two days ago.”

Stuff

Trump is dead right. And you saw that energy change from shock and sadness to power, strength and defiance as they chanted USA! USA! USA! in response. Watch, you can see the change.

The left and media attacked Trump for his fist pumping. Media, including the NZ Herald were claiming it is a white supremacist sign.

But they were perfectly OK when it has been used before.

Like Barack Obama.

It’s OK when Joe does it.

Jacinda Ardern seemed perfectly happy with a raised fist right beside her.

Or maybe Chloe Swarbrick.

So, raise your fist for freedom. If it’s OK for the left to do it, it is OK for you too!
