During the three readings of the Medicines Amendment Bill on 19 May 2021 David Seymour took it upon himself to do an impromptu lecture to the house on how the C-19 vaccine worked. He sounded like he’d been schooled up by Dr Nikki Turner and Dr Helen Petousis-Harris. Therefore, like them, he got some of the facts wrong.

David Seymour on mRNA:
Messenger RNA is inside us; it’s everywhere. It’s the way that our body internally communicates, stimulates ourselves to create proteins. And the way that this vaccine works is that it takes some of the messenger RNA that is in Covid-19, or at least identical to it, that stimulates the growth of the spike proteins. And when that mRNA enters the cells of a human, as it entered mine last Friday, the immune system of the human says, “Hello, hello, we’ve got something here like this. I’m going to generate a response to destroy it.” And the immune system learns to destroy those spike proteins. Now, within a few days, all of the mRNA that came in the vaccine is gone. It’s very unstable. That’s why it has to be refrigerated at minus 80 degrees. The spike proteins that your cells produced upon receiving the mRNA have been destroyed by your immune system. The only thing that remains is a memory in one’s immune system of what it’s like to fight something that looks like Covid-19 and if Covid-19 spike proteins do appear in your body, your immune system’s ready to fight them. I actually think that’s pretty cool. But it also shows that you have absolutely nothing to fear because all you’re left with is the memory of how to fight it. I just ask the good doctors on the other side of the House if that’s roughly what happens and they say, yes, that’s actually a pretty good description.
The Dunning-Kruger effect describes a cognitive bias where individuals with knowledge or competence in a specific area tend to overestimate their abilities on other topics.
It didn’t help David though that the medical MPs he checked with could not do any better. At least he tried to give a disclaimer at the start, but many listening would have been influenced by his status as a parliamentary party leader. His medical advice was wrong at the time, and has aged terribly.
Our particular comments:
mRNA Modified
Most of this is rubbish but David is right, at least, that mRNA is everywhere in our bodies: in every cell that makes proteins. However, the vaccine contains synthetic genetic material which has several modifications that distinguish it from the Wuhan coronavirus RNA and from native human mRNA. Vaccine mRNA is not identical to viral or our own mRNA. It:
- contains a genetic sequence from human alpha globulin so it can evade the immune defences and get into the cells without alerting them
- has methyl-pseudouridine in place of uridine which increases its stability and hence its persistence in the body, meaning spike protein will be produced for longer
- has a Poly(A) tail (large numbers of adenosine nucleotides at the end of the mRNA) to increase the amount of spike protein produced – which is synthetic in its own right
- is guanine-rich (has an increased proportion of guanosine nucleotides) which makes it more stable
- is contained within highly inflammatory lipid nanoparticles which are designed to disperse widely throughout the body
These modifications to the genetic material mean that the vaccine-induced spike protein is not the same (in amount, location, structure, duration of production or persistence) as the ‘naturally-occurring’ spike protein on the SARs-CoV2 virus.
Cells Become Targets of the Immune System
David mentions the immune system learning to destroy the spike proteins. What he doesn’t mention is that the cells which produce the spike protein and place it on their surface are also destroyed. Once injected within lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), the synthetic mRNA can go almost anywhere in the body, and it is a lottery as to which cells will take up the mRNA and become spike protein factories.
When human cells produce foreign spike protein, the whole cell (not just the spike protein) can be targeted by the immune system for destruction. This is particularly harmful when the cells producing the spike protein are lining the blood vessels, or are heart cells, brain cells, kidney cells, ovarian cells or even immune cells.
A clinical example of a potential adverse effect is endothelial cells lining blood vessels. If these cells take up the mRNA, start producing spike protein and attract the attention of the immune system, the resultant inflammation in the vessel wall can weaken it causing an aneurysm or dissection, and serious medical events such as stroke, heart attack or ruptured aorta can follow.
A Memory is Not the Only Thing That Remains
Despite David agreeing with the good doctors that the mRNA is all gone within a few days, that was not demonstrated prior to the vaccine rollout, and research done after the rollout has shown that the mRNA, the spike protein and the LNPs can all persist in the human body for weeks, months or possibly longer. Vaccine components and products are NOT gone within a few days. Recent evidence from Yale, which is fighting to suppress its own research, has shown vaccine spike protein still present at 700 days in some recipients.
Some people are left with permanent damage to a variety of organs caused by auto-immune attacks on cells, rather than a happy memory.

Refrigeration Requirements
David mentions the vaccines being unstable and needing to be stored at -80 deg C. For unexplained reasons this requirement was dropped early in the vaccine rollout. Some have postulated the colder temperature lessened the immediate damaging affects as the full length modified RNA in the warmer and destabilised lipid nanoparticles broke into smaller pieces.
Injection Bypasses Mucosal Membranes
The mechanism and route of entry into the body are important. Coming into contact with an antigen (bits of the bioweaponised ‘virus’, e.g., its RNA) via injection which can connect rapidly with the blood stream, is quite different to coming into contact with the actual infection via mucous membranes such as those that line the mouth, nose and airways, which are under constant immune surveillance. So, not only are the natural pathways for building immunity to pathogens when they come into contact with mucous membranes bypassed, but the artificial spike protein in the blood, which is possibly being continuously produced, is triggering a massive immune response that ends of up damaging or destroying the body’s own tissue. A double whammy.
Disclosures Since David Made His Statement
At the time of making his speech it was not widely known that the manufacturing process of the clinical trial vaccine (process one using PCR technology) was different to the manufacturing process of the product injected into New Zealanders (process two using bacterial plasmids). Independent scientists assessing the vial/vile contents have discovered serious contamination with DNA due to the process two manufacturing and this includes SV40 promoter and enhancer sequences. This can lead to a number of adverse effects and is especially associated with cancer, including so-called ‘turbo cancers’.
Contrary to what David said, there was, and is, plenty to be concerned about. At some point he will rue his arrogant over-confidence, but clearly not yet, as he promotes the Gene Technology Bill to do it all again. His government continues to ignore evidence of catastrophic damage from the government’s first gene tech jab, so any protestations of safety oversight in the bill are hollow indeed.
