Shane Jones is right. The silence from Te Pāti Māori and the Green Party on crime in New Zealand is deafening. They love to bang their drums about ‘colonialism’ and ‘oppression’, but when children, especially Māori ones, are being beaten, abused, or killed, they vanish.
These two parties are a disgrace. They would rather scream about Palestine or wave their fists about overseas causes that don’t affect a single New Zealand child. Why? Because it’s easy. It costs them nothing. If they ever dared to talk about Māori kids getting bashed in their own homes, it would mean they’d actually have to do some bloody work.
Te Pāti Māori and the Greens thrive on grievance culture and victimhood. They love blaming the ‘system’ or ‘colonial circumstances’ for crime, as if that excuses violent thugs from accountability. They defend criminals while Māori kids suffer in silence. It’s cowardly. It’s shameful. And it proves they are not fit to represent anyone.
These parties don’t give a shit about Kiwi kids unless they can use them as political pawns. They’ve abandoned the very people they claim to fight for. They’ve turned their backs on victims, while protecting criminals with excuse after excuse.
New Zealanders are sick of it. We don’t need politicians who hide behind slogans while kids are being buried. We don’t need activists playing dress-up as MPs who treat parliament like a protest tent. We need leaders who will actually take crime seriously and put the safety of children first.
There are only two real options left in my opinion and that’s New Zealand First or ACT. Both parties are willing to say what the cowards in Te Pāti Māori and the Greens won’t: that crime must be punished, that criminals must be held accountable, and that victims matter more than thugs.
Jones was right to call them out. It’s time New Zealanders did too. If Te Pāti Māori and the Greens want to keep playing politics while defending criminals, then the voters should consign them to the scrap heap where they belong.
Next election, the choice is simple: you can vote for parties that defend victims, or stick with the ones who defend criminals.
