She Isn’t Above the Law, Either

“They probably got the goods on her.”

There’s a whole lotta skeletons rattling in that family’s closet. The Good Oil. Image by Lushington Brady.

Remember when the watchword was, “no one is above the law”? Ah, but that was in the dim, dark ages of between 2020 and 2024. Before then, Bill Clinton could lie under oath to Congress and Democrats would vote en masse to let it slide. Hillary Clinton could illegally use a clandestine private email server to her heart’s content and Joe Biden could stash as many boxes of classified documents in his garage as he could forget (and he could forget a lot).

But between 2020 and 2024, Donald Trump was determinedly seeking another tenure in the White House. Suddenly, Democrats and their media lackeys were adamant that no one was above the law. Not even the laws they created and retroactively applied solely to get the Bad Orange Man. Even an act as simple as a lawyer drafting a letter could see them imprisoned.

Now, the pendulum has swung back all the way. The American left’s beloved socialist genocide nepo-baby is finally facing accountability for the dark clouds which have long lingered over her. From (allegedly) lying about her age to fraudulently obtain US citizenship, to (allegedly) marrying her brother to grease his skids into the Land of the Free, all of Ilhan Omar’s (alleged) dirty laundry is being raked over by the machinery of the law.

And Democrats are apoplectic. Largely, it might seem to us cynics, on account that they may well be about to loosen entire ossuaries of skeletons from the Omar family closet.

The progressive vanguard shrieked to the heavens upon learning that Homeland Security Investigations had executed a search warrant upon the Washington residence of Minnesota’s favourite imported Muslim socialist. Hakeem Jeffries and his cohorts immediately reached for the fainting couches, braying about authoritarian weaponisation and the sanctity of political opposition. You almost have to admire the sheer, breathtaking chutzpah of the left playing the victim card after a half-decade spent weaponising the entire apparatus of the federal government against their chief political rival.

As former federal prosecutor Jim Trusty aptly observed:

“It’s difficult to not point out the dirty hands of the people that might complain about election interference.”

The very architects of endless lawfare during the Trump era, who cheerfully cheered on every indictment, subpoena and dawn raid designed to thwart a conservative resurgence, suddenly discovered a deep, constitutional reverence for unwritten departmental timelines. Mostly because the spotlight had swung toward one of their own. Legal experts were quick to puncture the myth of the supposedly sacred ‘60-day rule’, pointing out that it is merely an internal consultation guideline rather than a statutory immunity shield. Moreover, as Republican firebrand Nancy Mace reminded the gallery, the precedent for federal searches of politicians’ homes was established long before Immigration and Customs Enforcement ever darkened Ms Omar’s doorstep:

“All those who celebrated the raid of Mar-a-Lago don’t get to cry over the raid at Ilhan Omar’s home. Trump’s political enemy raided his home. Democrats set the precedent.”

Indeed they did. But beneath the theatrical wailing over electoral timing lies a rather more visceral terror among the progressive faithful: the nagging suspicion that investigators are no longer simply looking at ancient history. Federal probes are reportedly examining discrepancies in arrival paperwork, age declarations and the delightful genealogical mysteries surrounding past marital arrangements. Mike Howell, president of the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, noted that securing a judicial sign-off for a raid in heavily progressive Washington, DC, implies that investigators have built a formidable dossier. As Howell bluntly assessed:

“They probably got the goods on her. You don’t get a federal judge to sign off on something like this in Washington, DC, of all places, unless there is something that is rather convincing.”

Whether the trail leads to potential denaturalization for citizenship acquired under false pretences, or simply exposes the broader institutional rot within Capitol Hill’s generous earmark culture, one thing is abundantly clear. The progressive establishment is not panicking because the rule of law is being traduced: they are panicking because they suspect the rule of law is finally catching up with them. And for a political class accustomed to operating with absolute impunity, that is the most terrifying prospect of all.
