The BFD. Photo supplied

I chanced upon this photo in my hometown’s FB Page and was struck by the metaphor for our time that it represents. Presently, Cancel Culture is in full swing and is replacing accepted societal norms with the Globalist’s new or required norm.  In the process, those things which in the past have been recommended guidelines and up to one’s discretionary judgment, are being replaced with inflexible authoritarian edicts determined by those pulling the strings, as better and safer.

Anyone with half a brain can see that they are not better or safer but resistance seems to be at best futile and, at the worst, terminal on so many different levels. We now see business, occupational, family and friendship associations being universally severed because a stance that has been placed in the public domain by an individual as an attempt at warning others, has been vilified in a landslide of public shaming. Where what and how it has been said, has often been misquoted or taken out of context.

Like in the photo, in the pursuit of following Work Safe stipulations, a safer speed has been cancelled for the textbook new. The tape over the old recommended speed limit is another powerful metaphor in itself. The freedom of choice has been cancelled out by the enforcement of the new.

In the last few weeks, we have seen much gaffer tape being applied to media coverage on a number of subjects, the US Elections being only one of many of these. We have seen any who deviate from the playmaker’s view or scripted direction being systematically, ruthlessly and deliberately silenced. In most cases it is being done in a way that directly contradicts the veil of Global kindness, peace and wellbeing, that is supposed to be at the core of their motivation for implementation.
