The Curse of the Childless Cat Ladies

Cat ladies have been outing themselves like crazy. This is good as it keeps the foe in plain sight.

JD Vance is a smart guy. From humble ‘hillbilly’ origins, his intelligence and hard work (and a tough Meemaw) have got him from the mountains of Kentucky to within tobacco-spitting distance of the White House. He’s an ex-marine, a Yale Law School graduate and, after the success of his memoir Hillbilly Elegy, a best-selling writer. I like the idea that a possible Trump administration will include someone who knows both how to trap a mountain lion and that ‘bigly’ is not a real word.

So when the man speaks we should listen. Especially when he is alerting us to a menace that is undermining our society, our politics and the sanity of menfolk everywhere. I’m referring of course to the curse of the childless cat ladies. On his elevation to Trump’s running mate, some journo with an axe to grind (probably a cat lady herself) unearthed a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson where Vance described the phenomena:

[The United States] “is being run by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
