The Political Bigotry of the ABC Isn’t Even Thinly Veiled, and It Demands a Response

The BFD

I don’t really like being called “media”.

On one hand, I’m just not. I’ve got no training, and have nothing which could be called “formal experience”. I regard journalism as a once noble profession which was an essential part of democracy and a check on those in power via scrutiny and honest, relentless, critical inquiry.

On the other hand, the pool of indoctrination graduates posing as journalists and dishonestly passing off their unqualified opinions as objective news with precious few exceptions has such a stench to it I cringe with fear of guilt by association whenever someone suggests I’m a part of that polarised profession.

I started a blog and YouTube channel because so many people I know incuriously consume mainstream media and accept the presented narratives as facts and reporters as trustworthy without further personal analyses. I invited people with voices I respect to join a bigger platform and speak to a bigger audience we could forge together as a kind of acoustic treatment to the echo chamber which is the Leftist Media Complex.

If you’ve ever flown far on a plane and listened to your music or movie with headphones complete with active noise cancelling technology you’ll appreciate the remarkable difference it makes. That technology works by rapidly detecting the frequency of sounds outside your headphones and emitting the mathematically inverse frequency, resulting in relative quiet. The inverse frequency actively neutralises the unwanted noise polluting your listening experience.

That’s the need for conservative voices in old and new media: to rebalance the imbalance, effectively cancelling the pollution of fake news in the mainstream presented as respectable and trustworthy reporting.

Take for example this tweet from Michael Rowland, the long term anchor of the national broadcaster’s morning news show, “ABC News Breakfast”. Surely the respected star of the taxpayer-funded “news” program wouldn’t pollute his objective reporting with partisan bile!

He could have said James and wife were disappointed with climate change “reporting” or “scepticism” in News Corp’s outlets, but he chose a word previously reserved for those who doubt the historical facts of the attrocities committed by the Nazi regime toward Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and other people considered undesirable in the Reich’s pursuit of an Aryan master race.

The political animosity towards those inclined to put more weight in scientific scepticism of anthropogenic climate change theories and associated policy agendas is so toxic and irrational their detractors, like Michael Rowland, prefer to trickily associate them with Holocaust deniers than concede there may yet be some credible debate.

This is despicable inasmuch that it not only equates people dissenting from the status quo with latent antisemitism, but it also serves to trivialise the gravity of dismissing industrial genocide as a fanciful conspiracy theory no worse than debating climate change theories.

Perhaps these thoughts weren’t front and centre of Michael Rowland’s mind and he lazily regurgitated partisan rhetoric accepted by the editorial reporting standards of the ABC. Perhaps gaslighting has become so commonplace and right-thinking journalists so rare in the media that he even conflates casual pejoratives in commentary with respectable reporting.

There has never been less objective balance in the ABC Corporation. For evidence supporting my claim, see how many left of the political centre feel it would be a tragedy to defund it and how many right of centre would consider it better for the nation on balance. It’s long overdue for the sake of a less polluted democracy that the ABC has to sink or swim in the free market without subsidy by those it should be representing but instead treats with utter contempt as above.

There is a battle waging for the democratisation of media across the West. We now live in an age where technology makes it possible for an unqualified, inexperienced group of people to band together and create the kind of new media where the opinions are presented as opinions and the readers are trusted to weigh arguments with due consideration for declared biases – which we all have (but some pretend not to).

Free speech is not free. It costs sacrifice and service to preserve and protect. However, leftist demagoguery is actually subsidised by taxpayers!

But conservative media projects like The Good Sauce are entirely idealistic in that we are a collaboration of independent voices without paywalls and completely without corporate interference, and entirely supported by grassroots people who cannot be targeted by anti-free speech campaigns on social media.

My vision is to displace the mainstream media as soon as possible with a nightly news broadcast streamed on demand, free of opinion and partisan language, returning the highest ethics of journalism to news reporting, and separated from conservative or leftist opinion. What the leftists say about such a pursuit of Truth won’t change, and won’t alter our course. We’re democratising media without taxpayer money so everyone can freely take it or leave it and consume the old media available elsewhere.
