The largest of its kind in the world, Queensland’s population QoVAX SET Statewide study generated over 100,000 biospecimens and 11 million data points from 10,000 Queensland residents across 86 per cent of the state’s postcodes.
Following a pilot study in 2021, the government funded biobank containing blood samples and linked health information was collected between March and September of 2022.
The intent of QoVAX was to provide a resource for researchers to analyse and report on the impact of the Covid-19 vaccines on human health.
Queensland researchers want to record and evaluate the immune response and vaccine experience of the State’s residents aged 18 years and older.
Specimens included baseline samples pre- and post-vaccination, as well as samples from unvaccinated participants. Importantly, as both Moderna and Pfizer unblinded their clinical trials participants and vaccinated the placebo arms, QoVAX contributes valuable comparator information that is otherwise unavailable. Allowing for analysis between those who received the product(s) and those who did not, and between pre- and post-vaccine samples in the same individual, accords global significance to the data and specimens in the QoVAX biobank.
Also of critical importance is the potential for evidence of DNA contamination in the blood of vaccine recipients. Australian researchers, legal experts and human rights advocates have played a central role in exposing the emerging catastrophe resulting from synthetic DNA fragments, including SV40 promoter sequences and kanamycin resistance genes, detected in product vials. A South Australian study has already detected contamination in the bloodstream of mRNA vaccinated individuals. Learn more here.
Synthetic DNA, even without integrating into the nucleus, can induce cancer simply by crossing the cell membrane into the cytoplasm. Cancers associated with these products appear to be often rapidly progressive and affecting unusually young populations. The good news is that repurposed drugs are being integrated into standard cancer prevention and treatment programs with remarkable success. Learn more here and here.
In June 2023, without explanation, the Queensland government withdrew funding of QoVAX, jeopardising several near-complete but unpublished papers. Sample collection activities were terminated and the project’s government web pages disappeared. At the time, Senator Gerard Rennick questioned the government’s motivation for terminating such important research.
Responsibility for the data and biospecimens was handed to Queensland’s largest hospital and health service, Metro North Health. It is interesting to note, courtesy of Jikkyleaks (learn more about him here) that the principal investigator of Metro North’s QoVAX Vaccination Safety and Efficacy Trial Program is Michael Nissen. In a prime example of the revolving door of career progression between government departments, regulators, and the industry they purport to regulate, Nissen was recruited from GSK, sister company of Pfizer, to the Therapeutic Goods Administration as Principal Medical Officer in the Medicines Regulation Division.
Should we be surprised then, that in March 2025 Metro North informed study participants of their intent to archive permanently the data and destroy all specimens?
Metro North Health has determined that, for a range of reasons including the many mutations of the Covid-19 virus and similar studies from Australia and worldwide, there is no longer a scientific and public health need to retain these biological samples for future study. Therefore, these samples will be appropriately sterilised and disposed of. All study data collected as part of the QoVAX-SET study will be archived for the specified time-period as required by law, however, it will not be accessed or used for any future purpose.
Australians rallied to stop this. A number of politicians including Malcolm Roberts held the responsible bureaucrats’ feet to the fire. NSW law firm PJ O’Brien, acting on behalf of retired barrister and human rights activist Julian Gillespie, entered into legal correspondence with Metro North Health and the Queensland Premier. The Australian Medical Professionals Society (AMPS) wrote to the Queensland Minister for Health and Ambulance Services and requested citizens to do the same.
At the end of July 2025, Metro North Health confirmed, apparently on instruction from the minister, that the QoVAX research program data, biospecimens and documentation would not be prematurely destroyed. This is a consequential win for research ethics in the face of ongoing corruption and coverups at a time when population health faces a potential catastrophe.
In a recent email to supporters, AMPS Secretary Kara Thomas wrote the following in gratitude to those who answered the call from AMPS to raise their voice and help to halt this “bureaucratic attempt to bury the truth”. Her words must surely resonate with all who stand for the principles of clinical and research ethics, scientific integrity, and basic human rights.
Why This Matters
Preserving the QoVAX biospecimens means:
– Ongoing access to Australia’s largest longitudinal vaccine safety dataset;
– The ability to investigate and verify long-term health effects;
– Protection of participant consent and ethical research standards;
– Hope for those still suffering from long-term complications.
We acknowledge the leadership of every single one of you who acted, and we thank Adjunct Professor Jackie Hanson for ultimately committing to preserve this research resource.
The Fight Isn’t Over
This win proves what we can do when we stand together – but it also shows how close we came to losing this forever. We must remain vigilant.
If this government believed they could destroy critical medical data without consequence, what else might they try to hide? We are more resolved than ever to protect truth, ethics, and evidence in Australian healthcare.
Whether researchers without conflicts of interest will gain access to the QoVAX biobank specimens and data so that independent analyses can be conducted remains unknown. As described so eloquently in Robert F Kennedy Jr’s 2021 bestseller, The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health, and detailed more recently by the AMPS report Follow the Money, most research funding is dispersed by industry interests. As such, research is restricted to projects which endorse products, and excludes research which may show those products to be unsafe and/or ineffective.
Most clinical trial principal investigators, such as those at Metro North Health, are firmly entrenched in what is essentially a highly profitable business model involving intricate collaborations between pharmaceutical corporations, hospital systems, health insurance companies, health care providers, medical journals and public health regulators. The deterioration in population health and the increase in excess deaths happening across Western nations now appears to be the direct result of the business model of this ironically labelled “health industry”.
The QoVAX biobank deserves independent analysis by the small but growing body of researchers consciously removed from this mercenary system. Studying preserved specimens allows projects such as this, which compared people’s bloods taken before Covid to those with long spike syndrome and new onset cancers after Covid gene product injections. The paper, under peer review, demonstrated shocking long term genomic instability, RNA transcription chaos and insertional mutagenesis in the vaccinated group. In one such patient they have identified Pfizer’s synthetic mRNA in the tumour sample.
Objective research following the principles of sound and ethical science without industry interference is the only way to protect human health and establish the full horrors of the Covid bioweapons.
