Well if it wasn’t obvious before, it is now. The debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris proved beyond doubt the blatant left-wing bias of most of the mainstream media. ABC television, who were hosting the debate, didn’t even try to hide the fact. They made sure the viewers knew whose side they were on. Maybe they thought we were as dumb as they are and wouldn’t notice. What a bunch of crocks. On Tuesday night the moderators (a misnomer if ever there was one) looked vile, sounded vile and in fact were vile.
Whether you are a Trump supporter or not is irrelevant. When it comes to political matters, the bulk of the mainstream media gave up on balanced reporting a long time ago. It’s a global phenomenon. If you want balanced and objective journalism you have to go to a right-leaning outlet. Here’s the difference: if right-wing media don’t like what their political people on the right are doing they will call them out. That rarely happens on the left.
Tuesday night was a classic example. The moderators did everything they could to assist Harris. She was allowed to lie like a flatfish and was never challenged. They spent most of the night fact checking Trump and, as Megyn Kelly pointed out, most of their fact checking was bull dust. Just like in New Zealand, this is journalism in its lowest form. But they don’t care because they don’t adhere to standards anymore. They don’t care about sounding or looking professional as long as they get THEIR point of view across. That’s all that matters to them. Point scoring is what it’s all about.
We know why. Take the “Jessica then Tova” carry on from Ardern. They are all friends. Take Tuesday night. The female head of ABC News is a close friend of Kamala. She introduced Kamala’s husband to her. So the moderators were doing the bidding of this woman but were no doubt very happy to. That’s the exact opposite of professionalism. We the viewers have to put up with it. Again, they don’t care. They’re losing audience because of it but, again, they don’t care. It’s not their business is it? What this tells you is there is no pride in journalism anymore: just pump out the leftist propaganda.
These journalists should be hanging their heads in shame. Journalism was once a profession people could look up to, but not anymore. On Tuesday night it was three on one. Trump v Harris and the moderators. Plus it looked awfully like her so-called earrings doubled as earpieces. If you watched the debate you would have seen her writing notes from time to time. Where were those messages coming from and from whom? The Obamas and Clintons, maybe – certainly not Joe. He would have been out of it.
Megyn Kelly, one of America’s top journalists who used to work for Fox News, said she was disgusted with the whole affair. She now does her own podcasts and opined she was glad to be out of the mainstream media and she was embarrassed by how the ABC had conducted the debate. I am not surprised Trump says he won’t do another one. What was interesting was every time Harris spoke the tracker showed independent voters way down in parallel with Republicans but when Trump spoke independents tracked upwards.
Nothing constructive comes from a debate structured the way the ABC chose to. People can see through obvious bias and many commentators on the right, including independents, are expecting the tactic to backfire. The post-debate poll shows Trump has regained the lead in Michigan, one of the key swing states. The left-wing media constantly shoot themselves and their cause in the foot. Their constant spouting of rhetoric that is clearly at odds with reality has a negative effect.
This is where the likes of Tova O’Brien, Jenna Lynch and Maiki Sherman sit. They’ve made themselves unbelievable by virtue of their verbosity laced with intentional ‘gotcha’ rhetoric. Most of it is designed to undermine the government they don’t like. As Tulsi Gabbard said of the ABC moderates, “They’re not real journalists: they’re essentially the political operatives whose job it is to distract away from Kamala Harris’s record – distract away from the serious issues that we face.” The same can be said of left-wing journalists worldwide. Unfortunately for them we can see right through it.
