The Big Lie of the Pallywankers is that their non-stop rabid antisemitism of the past two-and-a-half years is really about ‘stopping the war in Gaza’. If that was true, then why were they out in the streets, bellowing their anti-Jewish bile, weeks before there even was a war in Gaza?
As Jewish Board of Deputies David Ossip pointed out to the Bell royal commission, the first ‘pro-Palestinian’ protests were getting underway while Palestinians were still torturing, raping, murdering and kidnapping Jews. Israel didn’t retaliate for three weeks after October 7, yet already mobs of Muslims egged on by Greens politicians stormed the Sydney Opera House and the marches were already demanding a ‘cease-fire’, before Israel had fired a single shot.
When it was put to him that the October 9 rally was motivated by sympathy for Palestinians, not support for Hamas, Mr Ossip said he found PAG’s “motivations extremely difficult to understand”.
“Your clients effectively called for a protest at Town Hall on the evening of seventh of October, whilst the attacks in southern Israel were still ongoing, women were still being raped, children were being kidnapped into Gaza, and terrorists were going house to house and burning people alive.
“So I still don’t understand why they thought calling a protest in such circumstances was in any way necessary or justified. I thought their conduct was appalling.”
If this was ever about ‘peace’ or ‘sympathy for Palestinians,’ the chants would not have been what they were. Even if we accept the police forensic finding that the Opera House mob shouted “Where are the Jews?”, rather than “Gas the Jews”, how is that any less antisemitic? Hunting Jews is not a foreign-policy critique. It is Jew-hatred, pure and simple. The same crowds that bayed for Jewish blood while the October 7 massacre was still underway have kept at it for years. The mask never slipped: it was never on.
NSW Police have consistently failed to protect Jewish Australians from the Opera House to Bondi. At the Opera House, they learned of the protest only from a public Facebook post.
“The police first became aware that the protest was planned on the evening of October 7, 2023, (when) a public Facebook event was identified that had been established by the Palestine Action Group.”
That is not reassurance: it is an admission of blindness. They had intelligence that Hizb ut-Tahrir members might attend. They still let the mob seize the CBD. They told grieving Jews to stay away from their own city’s global icon, rather than clear the streets of the hate-filled rabble.
“The police, through their actions, effectively gave control to the protesters, gave control of parts of the CBD to the protesters, and the ultimate losers were the Jewish community.”
The pattern continued. Only two people waving Israeli flags were arrested that night for ‘breach of the peace’. No charges against the anti-Israel protesters for the open Jew-hatred. Strike Force Mealing later managed a handful of minor assault charges. When the choice is between confronting a volatile Islamist-tinged mob or removing a couple of Jews holding flags, the police remove the Jews. That is not neutral policing: it is a tacit confession that they fear the violence of the ‘pro-Palestine’ side more than they value the safety of Jewish citizens.
Even at the royal commission, the Palestine Action Group’s lawyers tried the same old bait-and-switch. Instead of answering for the timing and the chants, they pressed Ossip about Israeli airstrikes and ‘Palestinian trauma’, attempting to recast the hatemongers as the real victims. The commissioner had to shut it down. The tactic never changes: when caught in open antisemitism, pivot to ‘but Israel’ and demand sympathy for the side that started the slaughter.
Australian authorities have effectively handed the streets of our cities to antisemitic mobs because they are running scared. They will not confront the violence: they will manage Jewish Australians out of the way instead. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. In Sydney, the good men in uniform have done less than nothing. They have surrendered public space to the haters and then pretended the problem is the people who refuse to stay silent about it.
