Dr Guy David Hatchard
Guy is an international advocate of food safety and natural medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Logic and Theoretical Physics from the University of Sussex and his Ph.D. in Psychology from Maharishi University of Management, Fairfield Iowa. He was formerly a senior manager at Genetic ID, a global food safety testing and certification laboratory. His published work uses the statistical methods of the physical sciences to analyse social data.
The UK Guardian leads with an exclusive story this morning, “Synthetic human embryos created in groundbreaking advance.” Scientists at the University of Cambridge and the California Institute of Technology have created synthetic human embryos using stem cells in a groundbreaking advance that sidesteps the need for eggs or sperm.
Curiously for the usually rabidly pro-GE Guardian, the article sounds the alarm, saying the work raises serious ethical and legal issues as the lab-grown entities fall outside current legislation in the UK and most other countries.
Note the use of the term ‘entity’ to describe the synthetic embryos, a term that excludes gender and any vestige of humanity. Scientists said the ‘aim’ of the work is to find out more about the impact of genetic disorders and the biological causes of recurrent miscarriage in the early stages of embryonic development, but there was little said about that at the Boston conference where their announcement was made. The main speculation has been whether the embryos can be made to go on and become living functioning organisms.
You can see where this is going, can’t you? Brave New World*. In Aldous Huxley’s 1932 novel, the genetic Bokanovsky Process produces standard men and women in uniform batches. The Director of the London Hatchery enthuses about factories with “ninety six identical twins working ninety six identical machines” and reveals to his new recruits that this is a “major instrument of social stability”.

Huxley describes a world in which material consumption, social stratification by genetic origins and unrestrained sexual mores created a perfectly comfortable and happy society. But what if Huxley’s dystopian imagining was completely misinformed? What if genetic engineering is incapable of producing health and happiness, but rather leads to ill health and depression?
You Have to Know Where You Are Going Before You Start on a Journey
For the last three years, scientists have had the opportunity to inject the entire human race with a synthetic genetic cocktail. Are we happier and more healthy? The answer is an emphatic NO. The truth is that happiness and health come not from biotechnology, but from within ourselves.
Watch Dr John Campbell in the UK describe the actual pandemic outcomes in a state of near despair. All over the world, in highly vaccinated countries, excess deaths have risen and are continuing way up on historical levels. This is affecting all age groups. UK data shows that more people are dying from heart disease, liver disease and strokes. Campbell’s anxiety results from the fact that no one in authority seems to want to investigate, while the media has banned discussion of the topic.
In the last few days, there have been 10 adoring articles in the New Zealand media praising the National Party’s initiative to remove controls on genetic engineering experimentation and commercialisation. This is not the start of a utopian future, it is something to greatly fear, as the disturbing revelations in the Guardian article indicate.
This is not the only indication (indication is actually a weak word to use here). The UK Daily Mail reveals this morning the results of an official report claiming that the first three people to fall sick with Covid were scientists at the Wuhan Virology Institute conducting gain of function research into novel coronaviruses. You can find out more here about how right from the early days of the pandemic so-called fact checkers, who were actually biased by vested interests, protected concern about Covid origins seeing the light of day. You tell me now if ‘lightly regulated’ GE is going to be safe?
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) has recently funded a project to produce and test mRNA vaccines that can be rapidly mass produced in Australia in the event of a lumpy skin disease (LSD) or other exotic disease outbreaks. This is described as a ‘pipeline’ project. You might be concerned that mRNA vaccines are going to be piped into your food supply, but did we ask the necessary questions when it was actually piped into humans, or did we unthinkingly attack the unvaccinated as conspiracy theorists?
It is now clear that many pro-GE articles appearing in the media are being generated by vested interests using PR firms and AI systems to control the flow of information. These are opinion-forming machines. The National Party and all our political parties appear to be completely captured by the pro-GE lobby. The curious fact is that there are virtually no successful GE projects anywhere in the world in agriculture or medicine. The first rule of GE publicity is:
‘Make wild promises about the benefits and safety of proposed GE biotechnology projects to encourage public acceptance and investment while making sure you prevent rational scientific assessments of all the past failed projects coming to public attention.’
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that we can go cap in hand to the political and medical authorities and ask for a change of heart. The rules of the game have been changed. This is no longer a search for the truth or happiness. It is about conformity to a terrible purpose.
So How Can the Situation Be Resolved?
Fundamentally life is balanced. In physics, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In religion, as you sow so shall you reap. This universal law of karma means that life-supporting actions help the individual to evolve to fields of greater happiness and fulfillment. Negative tendencies encourage destructive forces to predominate, causing suffering.
But biotechnology is changing the rules. It is altering the very mechanisms which underpin balance, stability and progress. It is introducing new genetic structures which are inherently unbalanced. When such negative forces accumulate and become dominant in society at large, a breaking point is reached. In this situation, change can happen very suddenly and often unexpectedly.
To many people, it will not seem strange to suggest that we have reached just such a turning point. We have reached a joyless realisation that something momentous is on the horizon, but we don’t quite know yet what it is. This nexus of change is without precedent in recorded history. We are not being driven by the ranting of a single tyrant as has happened many times in the past. Biotechnology, invisible to the naked eye, has penetrated the cell wall, instituting wholesale confusion and imbalance in the cytoplasm and hence human physiology and psychology. The death count is relentlessly rising every week.
Nature Knows Best How to Organise
A revival of knowledge is necessary. Fortunately, we know nature is all powerful. Throughout the ups and downs of the long corridor of time, the laws of nature are victorious in the end and always nourishing. Therefore in our current position, endeavours to restore balance should be welcomed and undertaken with joy. We can rely on gaining the support of nature.
At this time, there is no greater need than the rediscovery of the reserves of strength, vitality and happiness that reside in our own consciousness. In this, we should not feel alone. Universal consciousness is always there, from time to time, it gets hidden or shadowed, but it never ceases to be. It is just that human vision becomes one-sided, favouring material circumstances over wisdom. Now that the extreme has been reached, where the essence of life itself is being put at risk, the pendulum will swing back in favour of nature.
The crisis is coming to a head, and we may need to organise safe places to ride out the storm, but we should feel sure that what society is experiencing at the moment at the hands of rogue scientists, domineering politicians and the greedy is without any possibility of enduring. They are caught up in a maelstrom of untruth – the truly preposterous and unfounded idea that a few individuals can gain mastery over time and space by redesigning the laws of biology. In fact, nature operates on an unimaginably cosmic scale. Nature will win, this is inevitable.
What can help at this time is holding onto our Self, our traditions and our notions of science, truth and humanity. We can become the calm eye of the storm.
